Hi All,

This is a rather shameful move taken by Vodafone..!! Vodafone is blocking SMSes to 1900. Whenever one tries to send 'PORT' to 1900, an error message is received "Unable To Send SMS" or "Message Sending Failed". This is being done to prevent the customers from porting out of Vodafone. You will be able to send SMS to all other nos but 1900.....!!!!

Solution :

Simply call up the Nodal / Appellate desk or send a strong e-mail to Nodal / Appellate desk marking a copy to ap@trai.gov.in & daca@trai.gov.in.

Alternatively, you may post your complaint at :

pgportal.gov.in

Once you send the email, Vodafone would unblock your number and you would be able to send the port out SMS to 1900. The same happened to me and within 2 hours of sending the mail, I was able to generate the SMS. TRAI should seriously look into this & fine the operator for such malpractices..!!

Rise up & spread the message..!!

Thanks !!

shameful move taken by Vodafone..!! Vodafone is blocking SMSes to 1900. Whenever one tries to send 'PORT' to 1900, an error message is received "Unable To Send SMS" or "Message Sending Failed". my cell no 9373121374 yesterday they call me up and said your problem solve in 2-3 hours but still its not resolve

I did not face any issue. 3 days back I sent Port sms, and got porting code. Later got few calls from Vodafone asking why I am porting. But the calls seem just formality. And when I told Customer Care caller that I am porting to Idea Postpaid, he just left all efforts to persuade me 😀
BTW Idea Store guy informed that internal merger with Vodafone is almost done, and just some govt approvals are pending. Going ahead Vodafone brand will go, and merged company would use Idea Brand!

I faced the same issue, this is a very cheap trick, and someone with pride, will never ever opt for vodafone again in my life,
I think this is applicable for the users who have high data usage and are vodafone members for long time.

This is just pathetic.

Hi Users,

If you are facing problem to send SMS to 1900 for portable, first you need to check your balace at least 1 rupees because if you want send SMS to 1900 1 rupess will be charged, if you have unlimited calling and free SMS packege SMS will not send. You have compulsory balace 1 rupees, So users please recharge your mobile balace and send SMS, your problem will be solved.

Well they block all sms citing some technical reasons. Exact thing happened to me 2-3years back.
Ported out my orginal penta series voda no to airtel. Never went back.

Hi All,

Vodafone is Purposefully blocking SMS to 1900. Whenever one tries to send 'PORT' to 1900, an error message is received "Unable To Send SMS" or "Message Sending Failed". This is being done to prevent the customers from porting out of Vodafone. You will be able to send SMS to all other nos but 1900.....!!!!

Solution :

As I am located in Mumbai, I emailed Nodal / Appellate desk (Appellate.mum@vodafoneidea.com / vodafonecare.mum@vodafoneidea.com) marking a copy to ap@trai.gov.in & daca@trai.gov.in (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India )

Alternatively, you may post your complaint at :

I ported from Vodafone to Airtel only a couple days ago and it went through just fine. I believe you need at least Rs. 0.25 to send an SMS to 1900. Unlimited packs cannot be used to send SMS to 1900.

Voda or any other comapny is not blocking anything !!!
You must be having ₹0 balance in your account. You need at least ₹2-3 to send an SMS to 1900. please recharge your number and then send an SMS instead of complaining to pgportal.

Hello Guys, dt 06 May, 2019.
Here’s a solution if your message is getting blocked.
Recharge 35₹ plan of balance + 100mb + “26 day validity”.
It will give your card a validity period and activate your services.
Once done. You’ll be able yo send message to port your number.
I’ve tried it just now, Reliance Jio home delivery guy informed me about this method.

Vodafone basically blocks all calls and messages once your plan validity is over.
Plan OVER = Sim validity OVER.
It is only done by vodafone and no other carrier.
Recharge 35 you’ll be able to send message.
And if you don’t get reply from 1901, then send message to 1900 again.

MNP sms is going through now.
there is a new addition called CANCEL XXXXXXX to 1900
cancel space mobile number to 1900 to cancel the porting request.

can someone tell how that really works?

cos i have sent PORT XXXXXX to 1900
then porting code came then i sent CANCEL XXXXXX to 1900
there was no reply.

That porting code means nothing unless you give it to an operator for a new connection. It will expire on its own in a few days.

Despite having enough balance in my postpaid connection (in fact I paid extra 100 apart from my monthly bill as suggested by the Vi customer care executive, so that portability happens smoothly) the sms PORT xxxxxxxxxx to 1900 there is no response. Even the customer care executives are informing they have escalated to level 1 level 2 but still nothing happening. I am getting the doubt that this might not be an technical glitch but done purposely.

Convert it to prepaid first then if they are so bent . Threaten them that you will not pay bill . Just some stunt VI does in the first to retain customers
