Hi there, We are thinking of using ACT broadband in our Bangalore branch office. But, after reading several posts in this forum I am a bit concerned about ACT’s connection stability. Before I go for ACT, I would like to know how its services like generally and especially in monsoon season (lengthy downtime due to lightning strikes??). Another thing is that ACT (like Beam broadband) also provides battery for power backup. Does it really help when power is gone? Any experiences to share?

I would say the broadband is good if the HES box at ur premises. Since HES box is not present at my premises i have faced an issue when my internet wasnt working and where the HES box was fixed the owners had switched off the power connection as they were going out of station for the weekend. My issue wasnt resolved untill Monday evening.u Can also just have another basic broadband plan for backup from a different provider.

Thanks for ur information. It's a good suggestion to have two connections for backup from two different providers instead of using battery backup.

Another question is that can we ask ACT to place Hes box at my place? Do you know how many ports that Hes box offers?

I was curious why the owners (providers??) switched off the power connection and forgot to turn it on over the weekend? Did they do that for maintenance reasons?
