Seagate RMA in India

Has anyone ever filed a RMA for a seagate drive in Delhi? A friend told me that I had to register a call on Accel Warranty Management System before I can go to their office at Nehru place. The registration process on this website is so damn customer unfriendly, it is very difficult to go over it again and again. Any experiences??
 
I don't get wat was so unfriendly for you. Anyhow if you have difficulty. Drop into their place. They will do the registration for you n give you a hardcopy of the submission n delivery details. It would take atleast 2 weeks - a month to get the replacement hdd. So have\buy a spare hdd. Yes they give you a new hdd. They don't fix\service the defective hdd ...
 
I do not understand why they should need my father's name. I need to select my city from 315 odd pages. Looking for it is not easy. I searched for new Delhi and it didn't return any results. I enter the serial number of the drive and click add and it says input string is incorrect. So basically I am stuck without registering. As far as going there is concerned, I am told they don't entertain you without am online call registration. Nowhere on the Seagate website is it mentioned that I need to contact accel front line. I was directed to consult some firm in okhla. I called up and was told by the person there that I should contact accel.
 
Don't know about delhi. Here in chennai the staff there in the accel service centre does the registering. And i got the new 1 TB hdd as a replacement after 3 weeks. I confirmed that it's new, frm my friend who's working there ...
 
You can go to the service centre directly without calling. And yes, you'll mostly get a refurbished hdd and not new. They do give new ones if they don't have stock of refurbished hdds. I was lucky to get a new 750gb hdd when I gave my 400gb for rma.

During the last RMA I got a HDD that said certified repaired. So they do send refurbished HD, may be you were just lucky.
 
Bumping this thread. Looks like my HDD (Seagate 1TB) is failing. Windows shows the "your drive is failing" error and the Seatools tests fail as well. Its in warranty till April 2013. Whats the process for RMA. Do I have to courier it somewhere or give it in person?

Do I open the RMA request on seagate.com or Accel Warranty Management System
 
Yes follow steps on their site. Do not forget to register first before going to service center.otherwise they will send you back.I gave it in person. Dont know if you can courier or not.

first open a RMA request at seagate , u will get a ref no then u will proceed to accel service center after creating a profile in accel web this is wat i did when my 1 tb failed in 2010
 
I had opened this thread a few months ago. I still haven't given my drive because the damn process is so very complicated. Help me please if you successfully manage to do it. Where are you located?
