i am expecting to see more such updates in the future. Apple simply cannot match the maps google has currently on their own. though partnerships with tomtom and other sources would help.
 
i do hope that Apple maps would push google to offer voice navigation in more countries including india 'officially'. Nokia maps did not do it. maybe apple would!

But the question is do we get turn by turn navigation on apple maps here in India??? Would be great if it does... I might then just retire my 3GS to be a car GPS after my upgrade to the iPhone 5( assuming I do like it & upgrade)...
 
i am not sure. i did not watch the event. no blog posts i read mentioned about the availability. i assume that more details would be released at launch or whatever. i don't even care about android any more. i don't own a device 😛 i am back to asking people for directions again. 😕
 
i am doing just fine. i do not even miss it at all. i probably would when the net goes down. would have to 'call' airtel instead of tweeting them.

For reference to all future Android buyers.... *beep* Samsung *beep* HTC only buy Nexus devices 😀 ... BTW I sincerely hope Google moves away from samsung for the next nexus phone... Samsung really fked up the nexus & I had to put my plans to upgrade from my N1 on hold 🙁...
 
i am hoping that the rumors are true. one nexus device from each major player and google selling them directly through their play store online. globally would be awesome though unlikely 😀 android has matured enough for google to have a nexus device from each of the major player with user having the option to pick from them!
 
Maps looks amazing .. nice update by Apple .. seems now they want to control all major apps on the iPhone ...

hope this is true .. i fell Google need to work on hardware integration with Motorola and bring some good device ..
 
wait till you see your own home on Apple maps. the photos are all from america or major cities around the world. that is not where your or me live. also. they have no alternative to youtube. they also have no solid alternative to google search. they rely on twitter and facebook for social. they rely on yelp for local. they rely on wolfram for most siri responses.
