Hello guys, I'm planning to purchase a second Tata Sky setup in my room to watch TV on my laptop and I intend to do it in one of the following ways.

1.Purchase the Set-top Box, USB tv tuner for laptop and connect it through RF/composiste to the tv tuner and watch TV. (the wired setup is inconvenient )

OR

2. Purchase the Set-top box, connect it to some wireless device, possibly one that transmits Television signals wirelessly or connect a wireless router to the Set-top Box and watch the Television on my laptop wirelessly thorugh the wifi network.(this is the preferred way)

I'm certain someone has definitely encountered this issue previously and if there's an existing thread give me the link to the same, if not advise me accordingly.

Diagramatic represntation would help greatly.

Thanks

Setup 1 is more convenient and easy to debug in case of any problems. The only issue is the lack of mobility, but it will be the cheapest. You only need to get the USB TV Tuner.Composite out from Tata Sky plugs directly into the USB TV Tuner RCA socket.

I'm interested in setup 2 and always wanted to do something like that myself. Unfortunately HAVA and sling box are pretty rare to find in India. You can order them online though and i even confirmed with hava and they said even though they dont sell it in retail stores in india but they do have service centers here and warranty will be applicable in india. No idea about sling though. Please update if you do go with this solution.

I want to go with setup 2, but I want an inexpensive solution for the same. Slingbox seems to cost more than the STB .
