Hi friendsI need to get a new broadband plan in Rohini, delhi. The idea is to use it for hosting my slingbox so the main criteria becoms best upload speed. Also, is anyone aware of any upload limits, fair usage or otherwise, for any of the providers ? Thanks in advance.

Airtel or MTNL in Delhi dont give speeds above 900kbps(MAX)! And can't above 1Mbps because of the technology... So you would be better off with Reliance who can offer good upload speeds with their Metro Ethernet tech. if its available in your area... 🙂

Whats your budget....? if you are looking for 1MBps or more for upload it will be more than Rs 1800- 2000 PM on unltd plans !

Thanks Mukul, anant.del and x720. Appreciate your inputs. X720 - I would prefer unlimited and therefore am interested in finding out if anyone has run into any upload limir issues.Anant.del - i can touch 1500-1800 if it meets all requirements for sure rather than on paper. Which one did you have in mind when you posted the comment above, as i havent seen anyone mentioning upload speeds on their price plans yet. Mukul - i have had excellent experience with reliance 3g but since im not local to delhi now, i'll have to check if they serve the intended address. Thanks again for the input

Something on the lines of this -

😛

Possible if you've got ftth or MEN. Mind you, reliance wired is not the same as wireless, in terms of service.

The OP never said unlimited 😛

I have good instincts 😛

That looks great. Thanks again

Would still like to know if you know of any particular isp that does 1mbps uploads for that or any other price?

Updated - actually just saw the ftth from mtnl and it does mention the upload limit to some extent

ADSL won't allow uploads to go beyond 1mbit. MTNL limits uploads to 512k on adsl, no idea about airtel, but you certainly won't be getting 1mbit. bsnl doesn't limit upload speed on ftth, but then you're in delhi. Only option I guess, is to try out Reliance Metro Ethernet, if it is available. mtnl ftth has a very limited presence I believe.

MTNL was giving upto 1MBps upload speeds before but seems now they aren't in their BB plans, your next option is Reliance but I am not keen to advice anyone to go for Reliance 😛

Thanks again guys. That sort off rounds it all off to reliance for now. I'll try and ask around in the locality if anyone has reliance and the experience they've had. Much appreciated x720 and anant.del
