I moved to Bangalore about a month, applied for a new landline and broadband connection on Feb 19th and got hooked in ONE week flat!I'm very impressed with BSNL guys...I guess its because I took the pains to visit their office, meet the AGMhimself, call them up regularly (and politely) etc and they were veryprompt even though they said they were getting 20 to 30 applications per dayand my setup would take at least 2 to 3 weeks...(Indranagar area)I got the 512k plan and Im getting speeds of about 350k to 500k on it (online bandwidth tests, dowloading linux ISOs etc), uploads are about 128k (havent checked this properly...)I'm happy with this until the end of the unlimited offer in June, after that I'll have to think about what to do about the damn 5gb limit, maybe go for the 1 mbps / 10gb plan but that will cost Rs 3500 per month (after taxes/rental etc) and I dont want to pay 12 months in advance to get the discounts!PS: I cribbed to the AGM about the download limits and he said they *might* reconsider the plans/limits after the end of the unlimited period so I'm hoping for some improvement...

Vishal,

Check with Reliance. Ask for their DIA plans for broadband.
These have no data transfer or time limits.

256KB plan is Rs 1200 and 512K is Rs 3000 per month.

Talk to a senior manager in Reliance, Bangalore and please post a confirm of the tarrif and if it is truly *unlimited* with NO data or time limits.

Hoping for the same. BSNL may offer an unlimited plan or hopefully extend the promotional offer.
