both of my nexus have been without warranty. just handle them with care and they should be fine. and you do know that you can still get your phones fixed by paying the charges? the money saved by going grey might be more than what you might end up spending in the first year of ownership. if handled well, the phone should not give you any trouble in the first year itself. problems begin when the phone gets a bit older.

the money saved by going grey might be more than what you might end up spending in the first year of ownership.??didn't got it

i am saying that grey market price could be around 4-5K cheaper than the official pricing. and only major issues are likely to cost this much. i mean if you drop your phone and damage the display, it is not covered under warranty anyways. of course, manufacturing defects are another issue and that would largely be dependent upon your luck 😕

my dealer here in gurgaon has been pretty useless in finding out the details. a friend based in mumbai said that his dealer is offering it for Rs. 26K. a new member on the forum from mumbai said that he can get it for Rs. 24K.

Yeah, i saw that. first it was 23k then 24k in Mumbai.i Think it's a pretty good deal @ 24k considering it is listed at 480 $ at Amazon

considering you are in mumbai, i guess you should go for it! Sony xperia s is also on sale for around Rs. 32K i think. could be cheaper.

heh. as a nexus user here i can only say haha 😀it took google what? 5 months to release android ics for nexus s. where is the advantage man? plus Galaxy nexus has major shortcomings that are becoming very hard to ignore. and waiting for the next nexus is not something i was interested in doing. 🙂

5 months?? :iomg:i thought you had upgraded to ICS in DEC.major shortcomings?? like??

google released an update in december i think. but it had issues with battery life and overall performance. so they stopped the update. and only now they have resumed the update. in april. so that makes it five months. as for issues with Galaxy nexus? display is pentile. camera might be fast but the quality is not so great compared to cameras on phones in the same price bracket.

Okay atlast I got the ICS update downloaded (128 MB), Any tips or suggestions before I start the install?I have few photos and mp3 files in my phone, I assume they won't be wiped off, and what about the apps will I need to reinstall them after the update?

Thanks for the confirmation :untroubled: , just installed the updated took less then 5 minutes, every thing went smoothly :fat:, without any trouble. Now need to get familiarize with the new setting. Is there a way to set the Data Usage Limit directly without scrolling down from the default 5GB to 2GB (my limit)?
