Getting Half Of The Expected Speed In 256 Kbps

Hi GuysI had taken this 256 kbps Pure Unlimited this month. The speed during most part of the day was very bad. 7-8 kB/s from my browser or flashget most of the time. Never complained since the download used to get up to a constant 29-31 kB/s during night time (which I should get from a 256 kbps speed).Lately, I am getting a constant speed of 16-17 kB/s from my browser or flashget which I would have expected from a 128 kbps speed. Doesn't go better than that even at night time. Is there something I can do here? Surely, calling Sify for support would be a waste of time as I had tried this twice. THe Customer Support promised to come and never showed up. Also, BTW, I did have a lot of downloads last week when the download rate was good. So is there a chance that Sify cuts down your bandwidth if you are pulling down too much.

yea I think so, I have been getting speed around 10 kb for days now and u should have complained when u got low speed at day wt the hell r u paying for.

Hi dr.hadesLike I said, the Customer Support promised to come and never showed up. Actually I called my CTO first but they said the browsing speeds are to be handled by the Customer Support. Called the customer support twice and all they could say is "Someone will come tomorrow" but nobody turns up !!

this is the reason why i didnt change my plan to pure unlimited. sify is bound to cap the speeds of the heavy downloaders.
