sucks that we are not offered standby phones in india.

True. Back to ye old N73, as I had already sold off my old Android phone. I shouldn't have done that, but 6k for a year and a half old Samsung Galaxy 3 was too good to resist.

here in gurgaon Nokia care told me that they do not deal with cdma phones. nokia's cdma phones. i own one. had to get it repaired from some roadside shop.

let us know when you get the phone back...also tell us if they gave you unlocked bootloader as many times they unlock the bootloaders in service centers for making it an engineering motherboard.

::UPDATE::I received a call from Motorola service centre today, they said that my phone is ready. Went there and picked it up. Problem sorted out. They said they've changed the display panel.@popcornI don't think they've done anything to the software part. Do let me know how to check whether the bootloader is unlocked.

^xda is your friend 🙂

Well, I already did that. Couldn't find a perfect and safe way to check. I guess I should not mess around with bootloaders as it can result in hard brick.

Everything seems to be working just fine. I was a bit skeptical when I visited the service centre as it was a small place with just two girls attending to the customers and as I peeped to the inner room, I could only see two technicians working. And this service centre services Sony Ericsson and Motorola mobiles.

i think complicated stuff is handled by different centers? the guys at the store are likely to be working on simpler stuff. replacing the phone's LCD panel would have required quite some technical expertise. that's why the extra days they asked and kept your phone with them.

Yeah, I think you're right. But happy that they gave my mobile back before the timeframe given by them. I got it in 8 days, though they said it will take 10 - 15 days.

i am happy to hear about your experience. i have seen shitty support from Motorola service center here in Gurgaon back from the days when I had the original RAZR. not sure how good it is today. but i can only hope that google's acquisition would improve the things though it seems unlikely.
