Hi folks,I just got Tikona wi-bro connection with ADBB1099 plan. They are going to install the setup tomorrow. I wanted to buy a wifi router to share this connection with my laptop and smartphone. Can you please suggest me few good routers available and working with Tikona? I was checking flipkart and found some routers may pose problems working with modem less broadband connections like our Tikona.Netgear..? D-Link?Thanks in advance..

bought WGR614 wifi router from Netgear.. had to sweat it out for few hours before setting up this great device with tikona .. now its working alright.
there are at times it take a lot of time to connect from my laptop.. i am using a trick to run the wifi diagnostics if the AP is dysfunctional.

Also i am posting a link where the owner has posted a great piece of setting up the WGR614 with any broadband (with or without modem). Please refer to this link if you are setting up WGR514 for the first time.

@sachin.sharmahey moron...nxt time when u copy paste a " tikona sponsored message" atleast take the small effort to remove the double quotes !! these cheap tactics by tikona show how pathetic they are and also the near 0 IQ level of their employees who don't have the sense to even remove the double quotes from a copy paste job !

Hi Could you please describe how it can be done? I have a Netgear WGR614 v10 Router. I tried to configure it with my tikona connection. But failure was the result. Please verify the below steps (I am using Windows 7):-I Started the set up using the CD.After that login into "http://routerlogin.net/start.htm" for further set-up.In Basic Settings I have selected the option "Yes" for "Does your Internet connection require a login?"I selected ISP as: "PPPoE".In username and password , provided my tikona credentials.Service Name : I gave "tikonawifi".Connection Mode : Always on.Internet IP Address : "Get Dynamically from ISP"Domain Name Server (DNS) Address : "Get Automatically from ISP"Router MAC Address "Use Default Address"If I select "No" for "Does your Internet connection require a login?",It ask for "Account Name" and "Domain Name"

In " [Setup] Basic Settings" menu, Router MAC Address: Please use "Use this MAC address" the fields are already filled out automatically. Now, for username and password part ; dont put your tikona username password anywhere ; They are only used to login to internet from web. tikonawifi is a reserved name used by Tikona themselves so dont use it.Now in " [Setup] Wireless Settings" menu from LHS, configure the following:tick "enable SSID broadcast"dont tick "enable wireless isolation"Name (SSID): please select any name for the SSID. This will be visible in the Wireless Network Connection system tray on bottom right side of Win-7 taskbar.Region - AsiaChannel - autoMode: upto 150 mbps Security options: WPA2-PSK[AES]Passphrase: some good password (Note this will be visible always..in this menu). After this press Apply.Wait for the hourglass to finish. Now your wireless network connection is up and running. After this, connect to this network "SSID name" being visible in your task tray. Now to check if you have got the valid ip address. go to " [Maintenance] Router Status" menu from LHS and check the "Internet Port" section is filled valid data..If most of it is dummy zeroes then you havent yet got the DHCP ip address. For this, click on "Connection Status" from the bottom of page.Click Release followed by Renew.. do it many times till the valid ip addresses are filled. Once filled, you are good to go..Go to web browser: type in 1.254.254.254 to go to tikona wibro page.typein your login and password and remember selection (optional) ... you should be able to login..

Hi,Thanks a lot for the quick reply. But now I am facing a different issue. When I connect the Netgear router, the network icon in the windows status bar is showing a yellow triangle. If I hover the mouse over this, it shows "unidentified network". I opened the "Network and Sharing Center" and selected "trouble shoot". Then it shows the message "local area connection doesn't hane a valid ip configuration."I tried restarting laptop, router and modem. Please help if you have any clue. Thanks in advance.

Please check the following and let me know:1. Hope you have connected the ethernet cable to the correct slot in the router. Let me know how you have connected the entire setup.2. can you describe the 4 led lights (their color status and blink status) on the router.3. your wireless network is not properly configured (you can also do this via windows 7 Network and Sharing Center).

Yes. It was my mistake.
Finally I reset the router settings using reset button (on the back side of the router.).
Didn't do anything in the router basic settings - "http://routerlogin.net".
Just opened the "wireless settings" from the Left side menu, and filled the "Wireless Network" options.
Thats it. After clicking "Apply" button, opened the tikona login page - 1.254.254.254, entered the userid/password. Got the connection.
Then I removed all the existing wireless connections from "Network and Sharing Center -> Manage Wireless Networks", clicked on the network icon in the windows taskbar and selected my wireless network - provided password - opened tikona login page. Got the connection

@maverick29 thanks a lot for spending time for me.

No problem. I'm glad you are able to setup successfully now.. I do understand the frustration of not being able to setup at first.. as i too was in the same boat .. 🙂
