I have iPad with only Wifi. No other computer. What kind of Broadband connection providers are available for use for me in Hyderabad? The ones I talked to say I need to have computer. I think the computer does PPPoE. But again, I only want broadband with Wifi device, so I can connect iPad to it.I am in Kukatpally, please give me some advise. Thanks

ok. this is a weird scenario. you can surely take any broadband connection where the router connects to the internet automatically and has wifi too. airtel works like that. reliance has a login page which should work from the ipad browser as well. the only problem is that configuring the connection properly might need a computer with lan cable support. you can ask a friend to loan you his laptop for the same. once the configuration is made, everything should work fine. hyderabad has beam too i believe. it's worth checking them out too. amazing speeds they offer i heard. not sure how their router connects to the internet.

I would prefer not to have to login via web page on ipad. I want direct connection to be made by the router/device. I am not sure about Beam, I am seeing a lot of bad things about them online. Not sure why they make it so hard to set this up. Provider really needs to be able to set this up. I am trying to get someone who does not know much about computers. That's why I can't do it myself.

well. technically speaking. an ipad is pretty hard to use on its own. you need a pc or a mac to load content on it. very very few homes are likely to have a tablet pc with no regular computing machine. of course with ios 5... they have removed the need to activate the device using a computer. but still. an ipad on its own is a very limited device!
