Delhi Wizards is the latest team to join the list of Karnataka Lions, Chennai Cheetahs and Pune Strykers in World Series Hockey. The team will be spearheaded by ace striker Lucas Vila as captain and one of the world’s best coaches – Roelant Oltmans.
...
The WSH will be held from 17 December, 2011 to 22 January, 2012 and will involve 200 players -- Indian and international -- who will showcase their talent in 61 matches. It will be a multi-city franchise-based League with players being allocated to the teams based on the internationally accepted and practiced ‘draft’ system.

New league for Hockey by Nimbus Sports (owners of Neo Sports) and Indian Hockey Federation (IHF).

There was experiment done earlier with Hockey league from 2005 to 2008 by IHF and ESPN, but it failed and was wrapped up...
Now here comes WSH... Anybody looking forward for it? 🙂

Yep! Plan to watch Delhi Wizard's games at the Dhyanchand National Stadium, Delhi. I watched all of India's games during the CWG and loved watching Hockey LIVE.

Stars Player are not playing so WSH won't get much attraction..

Who said? Rajpal Singh? Dhanraj Pillay? Sandeep Singh? Arjun Halappa? Aren't they star players??
Just go to the official website and look for the teams, you'll know how many star player are playing.

It's very hard to say, but WSH isn't getting support anywhere near I P L, but obviously a better support compared to I C L.Today is my home team Karnataka Lion's first match. It'll be nice to see Dhanraj on the fiels after many days.__________________________________________________________________________God knows why i can't access this thread when i desperately want to post something here.

Atlast, after 20 days we have a post 😛

lol!

There was a brilliant game today where Bhopal Badshahs came back from a 4 goal deficit to equalise. The tournament has witnessed some fantastic games with fortunes changing by the minute. And the best part is that the Hockey has been aggressive.

Ah, good to see atleast a few are watching, but I feel my point is justified that at this juncture we aren't having too much happening on the forum as far as discussion on hockey is concerned, and creating a separate section would have made sense when things are better...Anyway, do let me know who wins
