MTNL all set to launch exciting new High Speed 2 Mbps Broadband plan at effective cost of just Rs. 25 per month.After making 512Kbps minimum download speed in all broadband plans; MTNL the No1 ISP in Mumbai, has decided to offer affordable Broadband connection to every home for just Rs.25 a month. As per our internal source, MTNL will introduce “Broaband Every Home” plan from 20th Feb’2012. The new plan is specially tailored for all casual Internet users. All existing MTNL landline customers can opt this plan to access Broadband at affordable price point. However, customer is required to pay monthly Rs. 50 towards modem charges if MTNL ADSL Modem opted. MTNL aims to increase Broadband penetration in India and provide affordable broadband to every home.

50 MB free usage per month.. wow.. why are they being so generous?

haha. this is not for monsters like us ! we will finish the limit in less than 10 mins 😛. but it is a good plan for ppl who just check their email once in a while.

Why MTNL keeps on vomiting such crap plans is beyond me. Unless people at Hayai sort themselves, we can't expect anything better from others.

dude it gets them the headlines ! and they will end up sucking money from a lot of ppl who don't realise how expensive it is.

They are better off giving rent free internet ... and start charging directly for usage .. Though @50p/MB (or 100 Rs/GB taking the lowest of 20p/MB seems too expensive).

they are also charging 50 for modem in this plan apart from rent of 25.

And talking about "we" not being targeted users & these are only for email-only folks then email works reasonably ok-ish at 64 kbps itself , why the 2 mbps drama 😕

With many websites averaging 1MB per page, this plan is pure evil.

well think of this plan as pay as you use. 50MB is just a formality. it is aimed at people with very little usage who are happy to pay per MB of usage.

Also even Email websites nowadays has a lot of video/animation running around on screen.

And that is why I say - they are better of saying its a pay as you use plan than putting 50 MB - 50 MB looks a bad joke to me

This plan is to make a fool of those who dont know what MBs and GBs are , gets a new pc thinks wow i pay so little and uses it no end and later gets billed for 1000 +
