Alternative for Monoblock LNB if you cannot get it.

Do i require alignment to view DD Direct+ channels?, i mean if i change the STB to FTA STB. What can i do with OLD STB and VC Card?


I know, but i'm thinking to scrap my Dish connection and choose a cable operator. I dont want to throw my antenna. So, i'm gonna buy a FTA STB so that i can use that(DD Direct+) in some place, where there's no availability of cable/dish.

There is no need for re-alignment to view DD Direct channels if you just changeover to FTA STB. You can sell the Old STB+VC Card if you do not want to continue Dish tv subscription.

I also have hathw@y Digital Cable connection, but kept DD Direct Plus and C-band dish as backup in case of cable operators power supply going away.

Nowadays we get MPEG4 FTA STB with USB Recording too. If you have good space on terrace etc, then get an MPEG4 DVB-S2 FTA set-top box and 120cm dish to enjoy more than 110 C-band free channels in addition to DD Direct's 59 TV+24 Radio services.

I can't sell that, because it's in my name and my address. Can i change the name of subscriber?

Thank You, i dont think i need a USB recorder if i use DDDirect. The nos of channels is too less, there nothing much i can record from 59 channels. But it'll be nice if i can get a separate DVR recorder which i can use to record Cable / DDdirect whichever when required.
 
Can i change the name of subscriber?



It might be possible to get the name transferred to new buyer, i guess. Check with Dish tv customer care.

Do other DTH providers do the same? I Hate that. But, initially FTA channels were receivable when subscription expired. Thats not possible now. They've launched 'Dish Freedom' with a cost of Rs.60pm where you can get all FTA channels and few other channels.

Yes all private DTH set-top boxes are locked and cannot tune FTAs.

Dish TV MPEG - 2 (Just a tp) & Tata Sky HD (heard) HD channels may store FTA channel itself.

I doubt that no any dth allow user to use CAM & they just added the hardware for it but no use of it I think.
 

after installing monoblock will it automatically get new frequencies for new channels or anything needs to be upgraded in stb

After monoblock lnb is successfully installed, the set-top box software update happens automatically and the new satellite frequencies are scanned and stored in the set-top box.

Bina monoblckwale stbs bhi dono NSS 6 aur asiasat5 combine tp list ke sath hi hai (jabse dishtvne 2011 me software upgrade kiya tha) to muze lagta hai ki monoblock lagane ke bad software upgrade nahi hota hoga. Abhibhi dishtv tino satellite scan karta hai. Scan karlo pata chalega. 93.5 E , 95 E & 105 E.
 
is that possible after use mono block LNB i'll able to get all HD channels ? on my SD set top box ?

Only One Channel can be recorded at a time.
can i record any channel
while watching other channel
