My connection turned bad again.Very slow connectivity. All this happened after a power cut in the afternoon.Even after power came, the connection is bad it self. So, i hope i am connected to a bad gateway.

What gateway are you connected to ?

For finding gateway, type the following in cmd :

tracert www.google.com

The first or second address (the one that begins with 117. ) is your gateway.

if you were a user with abcd @ dataone.in you will get Ip 59.xx.xx.xxNow most users get only 117.xx.xx.xxMakes no difference

The connection is fine in the nights and until morning till a power cut.The ADSL becomes instable for around whole day.I am sure what the hell is happening .

I told ya to gimme the gateway.
I never get connected to 59.xxx.xxx.xxx range.
obvious 117.xx.xx.xx !!!

@raddy:
Your reply above. Give positive replies. We have to assume/guess the answer 117.xx.xx.xxx.

There could be some line problem due to electronic interference during day time.

Compare SNR ATTN data in the night and day. and give feedback here.
Change the Phase to which your modem is connected ( if 3 phase available )

I was asking for the specific gateway - the complete address. Some of the gateways have an issue. The fact that his problem starts after a certain time could well be due to the gateway issue

Do i have any control after Link No 3 ??
MY Current IP Address: 117.193.61.XX
May be try different DNS?

3 26 ms 24 ms 25 ms 117.193.48.1This is what I wanted to know, from what I've observed, a simple tracert to google, takes 35ms on one gateway and 165ms (the route followed on the faulty gateway is weird too) on the other (from Gurgaon), the difference being the pings sky rocket on Tata's network, and I wonder Tata would be treating the two gateway's differently. 6 148 ms 114 ms 116 ms 59.163.206.161.static.chennai.vsnl.net.in Don't you think this is a bit too high, here are my results on dslC:\Users>tracert 59.163.206.161Tracing route to 59.163.206.161.static.chennai.vsnl.net.in [59.163.206.161]over a maximum of 30 hops: 1

@x720Yup, you are very correct.Even i get different ping latency for different gateways.Any i am glad to inform everybody that the ADSL instability issue has been resolved.BSNL replaced a switch in their back-end and that made my connectivity rock stable. But, the switch appears to not have been configured correctly.I am getting 1.5MBps speed instead of 4 MBps, i have to raise yet another complaint for that. But, that would be an easy to fix problem.
