if i am using a USB port to assess the broadband do i need to install a LAN card for my desktop?will i be able to connect to the USB port and use straight away?thanks

there is no need of LAN card to be installed .
However , LAN connection is prefered as it is more
stable and Less problematic . And Good quality LAN
cards are available for about Rs 250/- only .

also u will have trouble with the usb if u wanna use another os like linux.. u wont have to install drivers for ur lan card in most cases as it will get detected automatically
