Updated from 2.3.4 to 2.3.6 today. OTA & not thru KIES :). Downloaded in less than 5 minutes but the installation took at least 30+ minutes. In fact I was wondering if the update had got stuck midway but it went thru slowly (patience in not my strong point). Like others have mentioned I noticed this (immediately on starting).

[*]Home screen clock display shifted to bottom.
[*]New unlock system. Can be confusing as there no direction on what to do.
[*]No problem (so far) in browsing thru the gallery.
[*]There is a slight different in accessing the contacts/sms/logs. Basically the first three buttons frm the left side.
[/list]Had taken a backup of everything but I didnt loose anything. :) Will update in due course as & when I notice any upgradation/degradation in performance or other changes.

Just noticed that the ringtone for receiving a sms & the delivery report is the same - no matter what ringtone you have applied Bloody inconvenient
&
When the phone gets charged I do not get s sound notification like in 2.3.4
Has anyone noticed the same? I wonder what the 'Notification' ringtone is used for?:(

The notification ringtone works fine for alarms/reminders but so far its not rung when battery is full nor is there a icon in the notification bar with the battery symbol. It says battery charged below the clock. What about for recd sms & delivery report as I mentioned in post #15?Any suggestions of how to get it when the battery is full.

Maybe the notification ringtone does not go off as it does not get fully charged even though the phone shows fully charged below the clock. Anyway I can calibrate the the battery like in a laptop :)@amar Do you get a battery sign in the notification bar when the battery is full? It did in my case when it was 2.3.4.

I wrote to Samsung thru their website yesterday (that experience is fit for a seperate thread by itself) about the problems I have mentioned above this is the answer I got
Thank you for becoming a patron of Samsung product.

We apologize for having such inconvenience with our product.

We request you to visit the nearest Authorized Service Center of Samsung for the mentioned problem of the handset. Since we are unable to trace the ASC near to your place.

For further assistance you may contact SAMSUNG Customer Contact Center at 3030 8282 or 1-800-11-0011 (toll free)

Thanking and assuring you for best services always.

Customer Satisfaction Team
Samsung India Electronics Pvt. Ltd.

This is in spite to giving all the details about my self they cant seem to get the details of the nearest service center to me. Why am I surprised as their service locator for Mumbai still shows service centers which have closed down 3-4 years ago. Looks like I have to reduce the Samsung product count in my house from the current number. I always had a good experience with their service for other products till now.
