Guys, I have been using reliance CDMA for the last 5yrs and i now want to convert it to reliance GSM without changing number..Is it possible and if so what is the procedure? Any help will be appreciated.

it's possible in the same circle. of course you would need to get a gsm compatible handset. and contact a reliance gsm dealer to get the mobile number portability documentation fill and processed.

Thanks for the reply but isnt mnp documentation used for changing service providers?I do not wish to change provider only service...

the process is the same even though the parent company is the same. you are changing the service provider... you are switching from reliance's cdma service to reliance's gsm team. they are different networks and reliance being the owner of both does not change anything.

Its called INP - Internal Number Portability. Visit any of the reliance outlet, apply for INP. Submit necessary documents and collect your GSM sim. And your number will be converted from CDMA to GSM.

had no idea 😛

😀 you were already knowing it. I just mentioned the exact terminology used for CDMA to GSM or viceversa Porting :glee:

But, make sure Reliance GSM is having better coverage in your city. Alteast CDMA is having EVDO facility whereas Reliance GSM had only EDGE network and no 3G .
