This is what happens to me on Sify every month when I renew my account. I pay my CTO through a cheque which he insists is how I pay him, before my expiry date but still my internet stays down for around 2 days after the account expires, till the CTO gets around to renewing my account directly from his end.And it's not even that my CTO is bothered about collecting the cheque. I tear out my hair calling him to come and collect it but he doesn't until the day before the expiry when Sify calls me and confirms from me that I want to renew, and then pressurises the CTO to move his @$$ and collect the cheque.I am wondering whether this is what happens with everyone, that is this internet being down for 2 days every month during the time of renewal? It s*cks.

In my case it is opposite, the CTO starts comin to my home 3 days prior to my expiry of the pack ,but i tell him com after 2 or 3 days 😛 ,then i call again to my CTO sayin tht noone is comin 😛 plzz renew my pack and they renew it immediately. After renewing he comes again i tell first renew my account the guy says its renewed sir i tell pzz go and check iwith ur office staff  This is the only time i hve fun with my CTO

There is something called as pipelining. My Local Operator renews my pack and puts it in pipeline, so the very second my pack expires, the renewed pack starts workin.Tell your CTO about this.

Thanks for the tip the_one. Will tell my horrible CTO about this. What kind is he I wonder, running a Sify franchise and not using pipelining.I just noticed that the current official Sify Client doesn't have the message "No renewals in the pipeline" or anyother kind of message that the previous client used to have regarding the pipeline. Do you get any message on your client if you have a renewal pack in your pipeline, @$$uming you use Sify's client?

Mine is pretty decent....He places an update in pipeline and dont bother to collect the money for atleast 2 weeks...Then he comes with the bill and i hand over the amount to him....simple.Ofcourse when the account gets expired, the update in pipeline automatically renews my account.....though i pay for it little later.

I can't even renew online because the f**king CTO blocks my internet through his proxy server or whatever he has until I call him up and haggle with him to collect the maintenance and allow me access. Everything is our responsibility with this horrible CTO I have.

Guess this guy is just one better than those CTOs that let their network stay down for 15 days at a stretch. I think I am going to complain about him to the Sify higher ups.

Thanks for all your replies guys. Now I know that this is a lapse on part of my CTO only.
