They have two things for me. When the net is working and I try to access a webpage, I get this nonsense.

I crossed 80% of my FUP couple of days back. Since then, every now and then, this message would appear out of nowhere. Breaking every single thing I am doing on my computer. It would take approximately 10 clicks on my part to get it away. Worse thing is that it redirects you completely. So you basically lose whatever you were trying to do previously. I have lost a couple of blog posts because of this nonsense. If this message appears during an online transaction, I would be a very pissed off customer.

Other times, it is this:

Haha, love the title 😛

Agreed. It is really annoying to see this useless page come up, while trying to access something else. Airtel is trying their level best to make our surfing experience more and more distressing 🙁

GBs left in your account 6.7Days left in the current Bill Cycle 8I have this problem. I am not sure how I manage to eat up 143GB so quickly (22 days). I have been trying to keeping my consumption low for the last 3-4 days. No use. Even with moderate usage, I am eating 1.5GB per day. I would probably have to buy 5/10GB because I simply cannot work at 256kbps (I am getting a worse experience right now).Google +1s would be appreciated. 🙂

At 256 KbPS, even browsing is hard leave alone downloading anything. Anything less than 1 MBPS is pathetic in this age.

ADmin . .i thought you ditchedd AIRTEL long back(?)Anyways try calling CC or ping them on twitter 😕 sadly am giving the above advice to a lot of airtel users these days 😕Oftopic: how much do they charge for buying extra GB?

it's an option available to me. better than staying with 256kbps for the rest of the days in the month. prices are crap i know. but it is good to have an option at least.

pings are stable today. but speeds are fluctuating a lot. i have not touched anything above 2mbps for a while now. even then my data usage is falling at an impressive pace. 5GB 8 days. Not sure which smartbytes pack to go for. 5GB or 10GB! if the speeds remain as low as they are today, 10GB would be wasted.

I guess it depends on your usage. On zero-downloading days, I consume only 200-500 MB for browsing and such.I've a question. I think speed-on-demand used to give only 2mbps speeds. What speeds would one get under the smartbytes package? Would it depend on the original speed(1/2/4 mbps) of your bill plan or 2 mbps?

ok. an update on my problem. managed to get an airtel representative (technically an alcatel-lucent employee) to visit my place. he went through the procedure... confirmed the problem. tried to get it fixed through the backend. no change. he said that it might be a problem with the copper. they would check some more things in the backend tomorrow. if nothing works, copper would have to be changed. i am looking for a crappy internet connectivity for the next couple of days.

now we are talking!

Would still have to go for the smartbytes package. I am still eating more than a GB a day!

You will get your plan speed with SmartBytes.

it sucks that everyone pays the same price for extra bandwidth. i mean i paid 2099 for 150GB. why am i being asked to pay 100 bucks for 1 extra GB?

they need to have relative pricing for people on different plans. but then it would make the system more complicated and is probably out of their technical capabilities to manage it properly.

Looks like Airtel is trolling with me. Within a couple of hours with regular browsing and absolutely no downloading, I am now down to this 😕

I finally made the switch to 4mbps 150gb.I have a friend who works at Airtel and is managing broadband upgrades all over India. By Feb, we can expect the minimum speeds of ALL broadband plans to be 2mbps. So there are at least some brains at airtel now.
