I wanted to create Thread like the one which we have in MTNL Forum.
Folks who are thinking to Go for Beam can Get Idea about connectivity in their Area.

My experience:

Location: Dk Road,Ameerpet
Package: BMax-10mbps
Cost per Month: 1000 incl Taxes
Positive Points: Tariff plans, Constant speed through out the Day, Less pings, Proper Uptime From past Quarter.
Negative Points: Customer Care, Above the Aerial Wiring,Slow Billing Department,Reconnection or Shifting of the connection is a Big headache.

General View: What they're offering is simply Superb. Poor Customer Care Puts them in the Back seat.

Location:Malkajgiri

Package:Bmax 10 mbps 30GB Fup . .2mbps post FUP

Cost per Month:Rs1000 Incl all taxes

Positive Points:
Promised speed,
functional portal page,
Less pings,
Nice plans,
Ability to experience new plans without changing the current plan,
Vacation discount( if your going on vacation ,contact beam and they'll disconnect your net service for 1 month, no charge)
since most of my friends use beam, even if i exhaust my FUP and i needed a file urgently, i can take my friends username and password and download it )
NO TORRENT THROTTLING,
Unlimited Upload (Uploads not counted while calculating FUP)
Speedy response to Problems( in my case, yeah)

Negative Points:
Customer care can be improved, And fiber wires hanging overhead (though there have been reports that they'll soon lay them underground)

General View:
As you can see, positive points far outweigh the negative points and i can say this is the best ISP i have used till now( i have used Tata photon + , Reliance netconnect, two LCOs , Tikona Wi-bro)

Location: HimayatnagarPackage: 1500 Max 15 Mbps utpo 40GB after that 4 MbpsCost per Month: Rs 1500Positive Points: Very good uptime about 99.5% as the main fiber distribution point is in our building.Negative Points: Bad telephonic support, better to call the local guys to get things done.General View: Very good service the best option in our area.Very happy with Beam I am big with youtube videos so appreciate the high speeds I just hope other Big ISP's also start providing high speed net....... after using beam even the so called 2 Mbps connections look dam slow!

And forgot. . beam caches the videos from youtube website. So the videos downloaded from youtube always download at high speeds 🙂

Very bad Customer care
UPS backup is always a problem

Cost per Month: 1000 incl Taxes
Positive Points: Downtime is low less than 24 hours in past 6 months. My life is peaceful after taking this connection 🙂
Negative Points: Had to follow up a lot for battery replacement.

Those pings I get are probably the best i've seen in India. To add to all these, the upload is unlimited. No shaping of the bandwidth.Negative Points😛retty obviously the Customer Care is massive negative for Beam. I have long given up on it. There is this customary downtime that happens every month without fail. Either its some server issue or more commonly a cable cut. The downtime is usually for couple of hours at the most. They are pretty prompt in rectifying it.General View:I remember some company used to have a tagline "Simply the best". Beam can proudly take over that tagline. I would recommend BEAM to anyone in Hyderabad.

Package: B-Max1000 (was in 15mbps plan but just downgraded to B-Max1000 in Jan)

Cost per Month: effective cost 916/- (I pay half-yearly @ 5500)

Positive Points: Speed!
Like powerwatts said, uploads are not considered..
Suprisingly, had no downtime since i've taken the connection (Last April).
Crappy Technology - I keep getting 10mbps even after using up FUP.. (don't tell them)

Negative Points: Customer care.. Touch wood I din't need to call them frequently, but whenever I did even for things like upgrading package or bill amount, had a torrid time...


General View: If only they can make the FUP more decent.. 30 gb @ 10mbps isn't lasting me a week (actually not even 2/3 days).
But given cost vs speed vs customer care, they have outdone themeselves.. Must have put big dent in Airtel pockets atleast in Hyderabad:clapping:... They had me on this point if not for anything else...

which wifi router you are using with BEAM OR WHAT VALUE FOR MONEY WIFI ROUTER you will suggest ?
One time is it better to get a router (Duel) which will take input signals from 3G data card also?

Right now no wired Broadband.
Maintaining right now 3 android phones (have to renew 3G/Gprs pack anyway) + 3 data cards (3G).

BEAM Rs 1000 /Rs 1500 pack looks appetising . Looks like they do have service around sindhi colony/paradise.

Do you have emergency back up alternate wired adsl or just mange with 3G data cards?

This is a really good thread. Can you please add what upload and download speed you actually get pre and post FUP. Please also mention if your internet works during power cuts too and for how long.

Damn! another downtime. Net stopped working suddenly last night. Saw today afternoon that its still down. Called CC and now its working.

Had a 4 hour downtime today from 12pm to 4pm. Received a SMS saying theres some maintenance work in progress.

Eventhough it has a couple of obligatory downtimes per month, this is the reason why i love beam 🙂

^^You need to disable DHT if you are using private trackers. And you might also want to "upgrade" your uTorrent to 2.2.1 or 2.0.4 coz uTorrent 3.x just sucks.
