Beam 24Hours
Just now Saw this

If they Cut down the Over head wires. We'd Have to Suffer from Downtime.:001unsure:
Already Getting some good 99%+ Uptime from past 3 Months.

Beam Now lay Fiber underground!

Don't worry don't know how much is true but one Beam manager a couple of months has told me that the Govt has given them the tender to move hanging cables in the city 🙂

They will tell What ever they want. One Manager Told earlier in 2011 That they will install ONT in Every Building which has a connection. They create Some Stories and Tell. I appreciate this Move by GHMC. These Horrible cabling Scare the Shit out of me.

I hope that only applies in areas where the officials aren't getting their moolah. AFAIK, in our areas get they their bone thrown at them every once in a while.

I don't Think Beam will get an Exemption. Because the last time probably 14Months back the fiber on the pole near Telecom Nagar were cut down. It took Almost 10+Hours to join the whole Wires and I personally saw some 30+ Workers working on it. It was so Huge.

yes. even the guy who came to do installation of beam told me that fiber cut will take minimum 4 hours to rectify.

they might do this for ,say 8-9 months but once some higer official comes for inspection, these crappy officers will remove the wires irrespective of moolah they took from you before.

So Finally We're Saved.

Telecom, internet and cable operators consent to start work on common ductUnder pressure from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to go for a common duct, the telecom, internet and cable operators have sought permission to remove hanging wires from some of the main roads and take them through the side roads.
At the same time, they have also consented to start work on a common duct where all cables can be put in underneath within the next few days. Two months after the municipal corporation ordered the private operators to come out with a plan for the common duct, the latter finally seem to have fallen in line.
“We want to keep the main roads and central lighting poles free of the hanging cables by the time the bio-diversity meet begins in October. We are also keen to get the common duct going though there does not seem to be unanimity among the private operators,” said senior municipal officials on Tuesday after a delegation of telecom/internet/cable operators met Commissioner M.T. Krishna Babu.
Hanging cables are to be removed on road stretches near the Police Control Room, Basheerbagh, Legislative Assembly, Khairatabad, Ameerpet and S.R.Nagar. Cables anyway have to be removed on National Highway 9 because of the metro rail works. Other road stretches include from NFCL junction till Mehdipatnam.
Telecom/internet operators have also sought permission for crossing 13 junctions in the above mentioned roads through digging since such work has been banned for more than a year save for the Water Board and the CPDCL.
Senior municipal officials are inclined to allow the work as a one time exception.
GHMC wants the duct to begin with between Charminar-Falaknuma and Indira Park to Nallakunta crossroads. There is a sense of urgency not just for the bio-diversity meet but also because there is a plan for a major overhaul of 170 km road stretches in phases scrapping the existing bitumen layers.
“If the telecom/internet operators are unable to form the consortium to take up the common duct we may have call for an expression of interest to entrust the work to a stand alone private agency,” added senior municipal officials.

I just saw lots of GMHC trucks all over Jubliee Hills area removing all the wires hanging from the poles. There are separate trucks behind these GHMC trucks which have been loaded with all the wires. They are just rampantly cutting all the wires and loading it into the trucks.

brace yourselves ..downtimes are coming. any downtimes for you ? Also how can they cut without informing anybody :/Maybe this is what warthog and toocool were talking when they were referring to "End of the world as we know it"

End of the world because of long downtimes? No offence, but come on....Time to explore the non-digital world..

hehehe. Alright.

The Whitefields area (nr. Kondapur) is facing the dreaded downtime. Net's been down since Friday (Sept. 14) afternoon. As usual the customer execs at Beam had no idea about the reasons as to why the net was not working.

I'm just gonna assume that the downtime is probably due to the cable cuts. Anyone else facing the downtime?

no downtimes here so far but dude ..3 days is long even for an fiber cut. complain at beam's official facebook page. they've been more helpful to me than the callcentre guys.
