Anyone tried hooking up another settop box to the router? does it work?I know that you can hook up your existing settop box through any one (out of 4) ports and it works, was wondering if it allows more than one and if anyone has actually tried it.

Usually for connecting IPTV set top box you use the dialer
For instance in MTNL vpi.vci 0 and 32 for normal BB and
for IPTV vpi vci 0 and 33
Confirm your set up is similar, and details of the modem/router you use.

Now it is not possible to connect any other IPTV set top box for the same ISP
or any other ISP.

Old diagram. Switch may not be needed now.

hmm. Yes the switch is in-built in the router.I was gonna try it with my friend's STB but I guess I shouldn't bother then. Thanks for the info!

For Router Sterlite SAM300AX. special mention about required Port for IPTV.

Some Other routers separate menu item included. .

You can select say Line 0_35 for BSNL is name router.
and use the same modem for connecting to BSNL BB etc.
Same VPI/VCI cannot be entered Twice for same line ( PVC)
Only Input Rj11 to be changed.
