Here's my setup:Wireless Router, connecting:#1) Laptop (wireless connection)#2) Desktop (wired connection to the same router).I would like to have the option of accessing one or more folders on either computer from the other computer, but owing to the connection being wireless, I would like to password protect the folder(s). I've tried looking it up on google, but it seems that most solutions involved opening access to the "Everyone group".

if ur pc requires a password to logon. any folder shared would require that password from what i know.

hmm, I know that is one way to do it, i.e. by having an account with the same username and password on both computers, but I really don't like the whole "logging on" to your computer thing...

How do I password protect?that would require u to login or let's say enter a username and password.

No what I mean is that I don't like logging on to windows with a username and password. What I am thinking of is how you can map a network drive, and have it reconnect at logon, i.e. not have to enter a password every time. That way if anyone "happens" to get on to my wireless network (which btw is quite secure, but anyway), they don't just get straight access to my shared folders.

hmm..... still haven't found a solution... has anyone else?

On desktop, share a folder and remove Everyone from permissions. Add a specific user in oermission list.On laptop, to go my network places. Add a new net place with name \\--name of desktop--\name of folder. If it is not enabled for 'Everyone' you will need to enter username / pwd for user on desktop. Do that and click on remember password thing. And select reconnect on logon. Is it what you are looking for?
