BitTorrent, famous peer to peer tech company has launched a new personal file sharing application - Share.

Download From Here >> http://www.getshareapp.com/

What’s so awesome about Share?

[*]Files are cached in the cloud, so users don’t have to be online at the same time to complete transfers.
[*]No Size Limits: With no limits on sends, file size or quality, you can send HD videos, high-res photo collections, and other oversized files – with no fees.
[*]Super Fast Downloads: Share is built on top of an innovative file-sharing technology already used by over 100 million people a month. Now your friends can download your biggest files without the endless wait.
[*]Private and Secure: You can choose exactly who gets access to the files you share. Set up groups to share with friends, family and co-workers, or just send a file to one person.
[*]Fun and Social: Now your friends can comment on the files you share in real-time. Sharing files becomes interactive, conversational and social.

same here 🙁 . According to what i could make out by going through p2p forums this app works perfect if u live in the US or certains cities in Europe. Hopefully someone here will have better luck

pando did this years ago. Dropbox remains simpler of course has limits. create a torrent file and share it with your friends. that is the best way around. this app sends a link that requires the other person to download the share app. they could have simply delivered the mail with the apt torrent file itself.too many issues with this app.

Have uploaded and shared nearly 1 GB files. Works perfectly, though slower at times. May be initial hic ups. (OR Airtel Broadband!!!)The shared files show up instantly in the recepient's share app.Ability to create separate share groups for different persons is what i liked.

i cannot wait for google to launch their google drive project. i have 80GB paid storage. and i would love to use it through a desktop app like Dropbox.

From what i read, these BitTorrent guys have a slightly different concept from Cloud Storage.

BitTorrent will be relying on Amazon’s EC2 and S3 services to allow for this unique file sharing experience. Files are cached on the cloud so users don’t have to be online at the same time to complete transfers. Once a file is successfully received by all recipients, it will be removed from the cloud

So in the days of SOPA ahead, the intention may be that no one can take down your files and creating a private, unlimited storage sharing network.
They also said that the current share application will be integrated in future versions of BitTorrent Client.

the storage on Amazon servers is temporary. and is likely to work only for popular shares.

it is not clear how they are going to afford it considering they are unlikely to be able to use deduplication.

pando has offered similar features for years now though free accounts have certain limitations. i do not see share offer unlimited storage on cloud for a long time. it is just not sustainable business model.

utorrent is a bittorrent inc product and it has featured the share option for a while now but it does not seem to use cloud storage for backup... the good thing is that it generates a torrent file which can be used with any torrent program. share does not give you a torrent file. you are stuck with their app.

----------

and bittorrent is an american company that would have to comply with american laws and regulations. they are going to be massively affected by SOPA and similar laws.

and there have been enough doubts about their intentions when they acquired utorrent. it is not clear if they have received funding from media giants in the US market.

share is definitely not a safe option for sharing pirated content.
