Blackberry BIS question..

I am planning to take Rs.399-30 day BIS service on my airtel prepaid..1. I want to know if i can connect my BB device to pc and use internet on the pc?? if yes, will i get unlimited internet on my pc as well ?2. are there seperate 2G and 3G BIS plans on airtel ??

1. It's supposed to work in theory but it can depend on the carrier. In my case, it does not work, even though I can browse the Internet on the phone without issues, so I suspect that Airtel may have disabled tethering.2. No. If your SIM has had 3G services enabled on it, then you'll get 3G speeds (assuming you're using a 3G phone and not like the 8520), if the SIM is not 3G enabled, then you'll only get 2G speeds (my SIM is 3G enabled, so I get 3G speeds, but my wife's SIM is not 3G enabled, so she gets only 2G speeds, both of these on BIS plans).

Some providers may differ, but I doubt it.

Vodafone has the same problem, no tethering allowed even when i had the BES postpay of Rs. 899 + tax. You can activate the mobile internet pack separately though & then use 2g/3g plans as required
