why MTNL so biased with Delhi???

Leaving aside MTNL, what about all the other infrastructural gifts Delhi gets inspite of zero contribution to India's finances and taxes?
Going by that logic, the most far flung areas of the country should have nil social sector spending.

Err actually the far flung areas of the country do get zero social sector spending... But anyway Delhi guys are crying now but the 3G unlimited offer launched in Delhi 2-3 months before it was launched in Mumbai... Also Mtnl Delhi has 2 Mbps unlimited for 1800 while it is 4k or something here in Mumbai ... Aag dono jagah barabar lagi hai 😛 ...

Zero contribution? Delhi Income Tax Zone is usually ranked among the top 3 in the country. Forget Delhi. How about the Meerut Income Tax Zone (comprising Meerut, Noida and Ghaziabad) that despite consistently being among the top 10 IT Zones gets peanuts?
If we start comparing cities on the investment made as a percentage of its contribution to India's economy there will be a lot of better candidates than Mumbai.

I believe MTNL is not biased towards Mumbai as such. MTNL Delhi & Mumbai both have with different infrastructure, staff hierarchy, policies and even websites to the point they are different companies all together. Just that they are forced to co-operate with each other and there is some one-up-manship/friendly rivalry going on between them.

MTNL Mumbai has a dedicated twitter account for 3G...delhi doesn't .....they don't even bother looking at folks from Delhi or doing anything about it........ Mumbai still has 4500 plan Delhi doesn't.... MTNL Mumbai still looked aware about the 4500 plan on talking to MTNL Delhi they didn't even know there is a 4500 plan.....and no wonder plan was discontinued here....Also MTNL 3G cards are easily available in Mumbai in Delhi one needs to go to sanchar haat only or be really lucky !MTNL Delhi capped the speeds to 1MBps or so in Mumbai doesn't seem so...MTNL Mumbai sends their GM to a customer house facing a problem and solves it.....in my area even with repeated complaints MTNL ppl do nothing for not having a network tower in such a main area of Delhi for almost 1.5 yr now.....and keep saying same thing we will have it soon !

I really dont think mtnl delhi caps the speed to 1 mbps for all users, that said, I've found mumbai staff to be a lot lot better than the ones at delhi. As sanke1 said, they are essentially two different organisations.

OP, Delhi has triband 2Mbps connection for 1899 UL but Mumbai has the same for 4999!!!!! and 4Mbps UL: Delhi- 3499 and Mumbai - 9999!!!! Now who are are they biased towards?

I had terrible problems with landline and broadband. I complained to the GM twice. Though the GM did not visit, somebody else lower down the hierarchy did. Finally, the problem was resolved after about 6 months.
Forget this Mumbai-Delhi tussle, it is best left to politicians to fight out. As far as the broadband plans go, BSNL offers much better plans than MTNL.
