hey kushal, AFAIK 1312 itself is 5.1 and not 7.1. You need an AVR upgrade before haggling TS or any other body for 7.1 broadcast as vikram points out above.

As of now u can only enjoy DD i.e 5.1 sound,TSHD+ STB supports DD+, but there are many other things that are needed for 7.1 sound EX, The Sound recorded in the actual program, Sound supported by broadcaster like STAR HD channels, Sound Supported by Tata Sky control center, Finally Sound Supported by STB and Firmware of STB. Only 1 support is available now ie of STB and hence u cant enjoy 7.1 sound.

Hi thanks for replay here are some visuals which shows about DD+ on some channels but not able to show it on mine AVR through TSHD+

1312 AVR will support 7.1 with powered surround back spkrs here are some pics of that and supports DD+ while i play some content from MEDIA player

oh ok. but i would suggest to upgrade anyhow.

i have bought 2113 7.1 but not able still get dolby digital plus still ...?

The above picture is TS HD+ back panel...suggest me a 5.1 or 7.1 home theater which has surround sound effect ....please take into a consideration on audio out put of TS HD+ box....

Budget 10 - 12 K....

I think to simplify the connections and the wire jumble , HDMI should be used. HDMI cable can be attached from TS HD STB to AVR and then from AVR to TV ( obviously taking care of i/p and o/p ports). This should remove the need for optical / spdif.
One question - How are SD channels handled ? Do they require a separate 2 channel cable or are the signals carried over HDMI cable for these channels as well ?

I am not sure if HDMI can provide 5.1 Audio to Audio system. I am sure HDMI carries Stereo (2 channels Left/Right) Audio to TV for both SD and HD channels.

I think HDMI 1.3 can carry Dolby True HD
Yes it can, but the way the implementation is done by TS is the very problem. Tata Sky HD+ gives stereo out thru hdmi, you have to connect via digital out or optical out for dolby 5.1 and of course there is no 7.1

its mean 7.1 out only if connected to hdmi and the digital out and optical out is waste. i have also this problem , i have connected my Tata Sky to Sony lcd with hdmi and my Philips 7.1 system is connected with optical out but no 7.1 sound, any fix here?

Dear Folks,
Sorry for pitching in late, You will get 5.1 surround sound from the STB through both spdif or Hdmi. The settings under sound (user settings)have to be changed. there are two options for both spdif - ie. optical or coaxial and hdmi. you could choose between pcm and dolby digital. there are no channels which broadcast with 7.1 sound. almost all are doby digital which is 5.1. A AVR is necessary to decode the sound as tvs come only with stereo. You can choose PCM output if you have 7.1 AVR system where in the avr will manipulate sound according to the settings in the avr.
i would like to add that at present i subscribe to both TATA and Sun. Though Sun network has very few HD channels their quality is fantastic. i have compared the video and sound for both Zee HD and Star. My friends the audio from Sun is superb and the video colors are vibrant and sharp.
Waiting to hear from you all.
