this dispute is pretty old. UGC now issues this ad every 6 months or so. this is all they can do, they can't take any legal action as long as the institute doesn't claim to be a University. the students are also to blame to some extent if they cough up a few lakh rupees without doing any due diligence.

TOI front page.. hindu . .a LOTTA magazines . .where the hell does it get money? And its students are supposed to be rich .. dont they have iPhone or something to ckeck the net/news and learn abt their institutions before joining it?
When I was in Noida, there was a friend who used to study BCA in Amity university. Of course the fee is very high. Midway, he came to know that this course was not recognised by the regulated authority (I guess UGC).I think this is common in many of the private universities
