I have contacted Tata PP folks directly only to have my request closed after several days, and no response from them. I am wondering if anyone might know the answer here, please.I shall be going away for six months at the beginning of March, and will not be using my connection. It is prepaid and I renew it online. If I do not renew online for six months, when I return to India will a renewal shortly before I arrive back keep it active for me? If not using for six months will it be deactivated? Are there fees involved to get it back in service again if it is? I have heard this is the cast with postpaid.Thank you for any help! In the meantime I have emailed Tata yet again.

Are you recharging every month 30 days pack? It is prepaid. so you wont get any bills. The modem is CDMA propreitory so can not be used for anyother provider. After you comre back, go to Tata showroom & do a 100 mb recharge to see whether it is alive in the system or not. Even if it is not, it will not cost much to use the same data card to renew old a/c / or start a new prepaid a/c . There are 6 month/1 year validity recharges available if Iam not mistaken ( carry forwardable I think). The day before you leave ,make a 6 month / 1 year valid recharge. Tata Customer service Robots will come and spam the thread any time now !

I am guessing the TataDocomo User Name is spam? I have already rewritten to Tata Customer Service in this regard.I haven't so far seen a 12 month validity for prepaid, Ulysses, only 3 months the last time I checked. Will look again when I recharge in the middle of Jan. if there is, that would make a lot of sense and easy for me. I don't use the gadget for any other SIM - when in Australia I have a Telstra USB prepaid (and this is on a 12 month validity so will be active for when I arrive there) and the gadget is a different device, not CDMA one.Thank you for your reply, Ulysses.

Finally yesterday I got an answer back from Tata - if you recharge your account every three months it will keep it active. If not recharged within 90 days then it is deactivated. These are their words:"As per your mail regarding your respective number, we would like to inform you that you need to recharge your number once in 90 days to continue your services and you can recharge your number online also."I assume I can do a minimum amount recharge even though validity is for a month at a time?
