Thinking rampant corruption here in India, as I already suffered by wrong selling practices of agents, I went direct to Vodafone stores to buy 3G USB connection for internet facility ( for laptop). One Mr. Hussain at Vodafone stores and Vidhyadhar ( at R.T. NAGAR Vodafone store), gave me option of : a) upto 3.1 MBPS b) from 3.1 TO 7.1 MBPS and c) from 7.2 mpbs to 21.1 MBPS. for different pricing. So I opted for higher speed upto 21.2 mbps for which I was promised good speed from 7.2 mbps minimum to 21.1 mbps maximum, and paid 4000 Rs by Credit card. The same product costed only 999 if it was upto 3.1 Mbps. I was so happy for a while with the kind of speed, that too when it was sold by Vodafone itself. But to my astonishment when I connected i got speed varying from 500 kbps to 1 mbps with full signal. Same was tried in different locations of Bangalore and speed never went upto 1.5 mbps at some spots. I explained this situation to Manager of Vodafone store Ms. Amrita Bhavsar, who promised me to carry out tests, while she refused to show me even one spot in Bangalore where we can get atleast 50% of 21.1 mbps speed. Huawei personal ( hardware suppliers to vodafone) came to my place and explained me about the situation that Vodafone doesn't have speed more than 7.1 mbps ( Gurudutt from Huawei),which is maximum limit. He said even if he optimize the tower signals and congestion it is not going to be better than 7.1 mbps in ideal cirumstances, because more than that doesn't even exists. ( Moreover Vodafone is operating on Airtel network). The Vodafone system is built for maximum 7.2 mbps. When I updated same thing to Amrita she explained me that my USB dongle is capable of speed upto 21.1 MBPS (twisted the story). As she knew internally that her office scammed me by offering higher speed for selling me product worth 4000 Rs which is 4 times more than ordinary one. Meanwhile I found MTS has better speed at same location and better bandwidth. ( tried my friend's MTS USB). Now the same Vodafone store is not even responding my calls and after having visited couple of times they refused to refund or downgrade, as the speed promised me doesn't even exists. I requested Vodafone to show me the spot of their choice if they can get atleast half of the speed what they promised, irrespective of speed at my location, but she did not budge.Vodafone and may be many other companies in India are indulged in misleading advertisement, luring customer with wrong promises and selling wrong products. I was scammed by Vodafone stores and their Staff. Unfortunately Amrita Bhavasar is now not even responding. I am holding piece of junk with me. Vodafone is scamming and cheating customers by giving wrong products and indulged in unfair trade practices to acquire customers. CAN SOMEONE STOP this loot?

Pre paid or Post paid? How many GB free data for first month?21 mbps dongle is worth say rs 2500 minimum. But it will be locked. If so,Now you should find out how to unlock it. After unlocking you can use any GSM 3G sim.Only Reliance in North India offers I think 21 mbps. all others 7.2 mbps only. Practically you can get 5-7 mbps only.If you have bought voda post paid connection, you are screwed. :mad ():Now that you know you are getting speeds less than MTS, eiether cancel subscription or change to voda pre paid.Huawei 21mbps data card is ok. what is the model no?All vodafone stores are franchised (not really company store) To sell post paid ,they tell all type of lies to scam a trusting naive victim(customer)vodafone customer service will tell you they are not responsible for all the lies perperated by the retail store franchisee .You know voda is piggy backing on airtel spectrum .Even that is going to be stopped soon by Govt. you made a mistake by thinking you are going to get 21 mbps on borrowed spectrum.:smiley-ashamed004:

I have taken prepaid connection as I am travelling frequently in and out of India and my work is speed based. I am sure it is Vodafone store. I will take pictures of stores and post it soon.

Here is the screenshot of Vodafone speed. As they are piggy backing on airtel spectrum, that is why one of their sales person said it is problem with AIRTEL and AIRTEL need to rectify. But as per Huawei, who manage transmission towers said speed is never be going to be more than 7.1 mbps.

I am using VODAFONE model K4504-Z. I am sure Vodafone staff at the stores must have been happy by selling me same stuff for 4000 which costs only 999 with no speed difference, Actually I was manipulated as I told them I don't live here in this country. So I became easy target. But it is strange that Vodafone customer service or their seniors are not able to handle the situation:

Can you suggest me if same hardware can be used for other networks, as Vodafone has no return policy. I am going to however dispute with my Credit card company.

Voda K4504-z is 21 mbps capable data card.
hard ware specs different from what speeds you are getting. No one is selling 21 mbps card for rs 1000. it is worth Rs 2500 approximately.

It will be locked. Google how to unlock it. it has to flashed . first insert another operator 3g pre paid sim to check !
you should know how to fill in appropriate APN when you use another operator sim.

Google and download "MDMA" and or " Huawei Mobile partner" to connect the data card (after unlocking and bypassing the clunky Voda software)
It will show parameters like profile speed, connection speed etc.
Airtel is not not responsible for the BS voda store guys told you as you are voda customer not airtel customer.

what data plan you are on? free 200 mb/1 Gb? or debiting from main a/c?
check with customer service or using USSD code.
read all voda 3G threads as all kinds of doubts have been answered.

you say you are going abroad often to counter sales man- you are asking for it.

getting money back from voda store- nope.
Disputing with credit card- good luck!

find voda customer service email and start badgering them thrice a day.

phone customer service -they wont know anything about what you are saying! waste of time.

You just move on to find out how to use this data card with airtel.
first find out how much data you paid for initially when you paid rs 4k.:spam:

Email details of issue to the Vodafone Nodal Officer or visit the Vodafone Corporate office in your area/region to meet personally. They should help resolve your issue. I guess you can try that as a last resort.

Exactly the same thing had happened with me. I had taken a postpaid connection, and as ulysses said, I got screwed. When I asked them to shift me to pre-paid, they said they couldn't!!!!!!! I requested them to deactivate my SIM, they accepted the request after long chats but kept on sending me bills. Absolutely pathetic stuff from Vodafone.Even I had purchased the expensive dongle for good speeds. Later, I unlocked my Dongle and now enjoy MTNL 3G. MTNL 3G is far better than Vodafone.

Hello Sir/Madam,

Vodafone Customer Care, Karnataka

I have replied to you both by email and online form, now let me know: Will you will be refunding or having some solution in mind? Or probably bringing your spectrum to atleast 50% of speed of 21.1 mbps? or You are learning a lesson not to mislead customers or give false information just to sell ? Or you will not be indulging in unfair trade practices.

Tell us how can one sell Peanuts by calling it almond and charging them for Almond? If same thing is done by a local grocery shop he will be in Jail. I hope you are getting my point. Even today I am getting 0.43 mbps. So why do you think I pay you so much ?

You need to have stores refund policy of 15 days if you stand by quality customer satisfaction. Else you are no better than a road side vendor or a street hawker.

where is the wallbash smiley.. suitable to use it here! :haha:

Dear VodafoneIndia, before responding kindly bother to read and comprehend the original issue. It is the issue of Vodafone speed with their spectrum, which is been piggybacked on Airtel and wrongly sold. Vodafone doesn't have ideal speed of more than 7.1 mbps. The Huawei guy who came to my place checked everything and said that it will not go more than this even if he optimized the tower, even if I sit right under the tower, ( which is in the hands of AIRTEL, for which VODAFONE will need to take their help), but Vodafone store sold me wrong product while claiming speed up to 21.1 Mbps with atleast 50% when congestion or peak time but will be above 7.2 mbps. It is clear case of unfair trade practices and misleading customer with exaggerated speed.

So where is the question of changing my USB dongle? However I have changed to another Vodafone dongle( for the happiness of Amrita Bhavsar Manager of Vodafone store at R.T. Nagar, as she pretended to make me understand that USB dongle is wrong and not their services, but issue still remains same, unless you strongly believe that by changing the USB dongle, automatically VODAFONE will have higher speed ! I know you are here to just do cut and paste job, but for god sake do not mislead me and other readers with your canned replies. FYI even after writing to both the contacts you have provided my , I have not heard from them. It is quite clear that you are bumping here to show that you are helping , it is same with Vodafone customer care with people of same capability, as some reader rightly conveyed that it is no use expecting help at this level, unless it is been taken up legally. I have seen flood of misleading ads of lightening speed of internet with 3G , but I am yet to witness. Big advertisements, big names, big market, big money, but worst product, worse service and worst speed. Afterall this is only way to make big money without winning customer since its big market, handful of frustrated customers makes no difference in their income as well as their name.

So Mr or Ms. VodafoneIndia what do you suggest next, I have done whatever you suggested, writing to them, changing dongle..... now what next.................................????? you got my hard earned money, you got your pay check, you win, but customer like me loose... then struggle.... then get frustrated..... and finally give up..... YOU KNOW THE TIME CYCLE...how to keep customer indefinitely in loop till he or she forget and moves on....But .It is unethical way of survival and earning luxury by extorting money by unfair means. It is nothing less than a petty thief, or a big robber or a corrupt babu in passport office, who also earns their livelihood or extra luxury same way... , but what you are doing is in fine prints with a big brand and shop under the nose of legal system. Hope someone takes companies like you to court, and it will not be too far, if this goes on everyday.

Its hilarious to see that the so called customer care agents have no ethical sense of practice.. @coldtime: You seem quite new to wireless internet.. whenver I buy a 3G connection, I don't expect anything out of it and then buy. I know no one is capable of even 3Mbps consistently.. we just don't have the infra structure for that. I used BSNL 3G first and I got 1-3Mbps. Then they gave unlimited connection which effectively paralysed their network due to the huge influx of customers. Then they not only had to remove the unlimited connection, but also increase the price of the existing plans to keep their network stable. @offtopic: Once a tata photon technician who came to check the connectivity of tata photon plus at my home made fun of me when I told him that I got 1Mbps with my existing BSNL 3G connection. He suffered a huge embarassement when he could only demonstrate 300Kbps with his 'lightning fast' 3.1Mbps tata photon plus connection. (and I heard that tata is upgrading their network to 9Mbps; isn't it funny?)

I thought tata are least corrupt and least unethical company in India.

I haven't used any of tata's services other than the ones offered by tata teleservices. When it comes to tata docomo GPRS, tata docomo 3G, tata photon plus in south India, I consider them as a FRAUD.
