Dear All,
I need your help in solving this problem. I am trying to configure Beetel 220BxI ADSL2 modem with BSNL. The problem is I am not able to connect to http://192.168.1.1 or ping 192.168.1.1 successfully. So I cannot do any configuration. When I ping I get a request times out error. Moreover the PC/USB Led is blinking slowly.

My TCP/IP4 properties maintained is
192.168.1.10
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.1

DNS 208.67.220.220 & 208.67.222.222. I've even tried with 61.0.0.5 & 61.1.96.69. Nothing works.

When I use a Huawei modem (supplied by BSNL), with the same LAN config everything works perfectly.

I also tried resetting the modem by pressing the RST button for about 30 secs

Any valuable input would be of great help.

Did you use ID admin PW as password?or try support supportuser password. feedback.

The ID PW details were given as usually Beetel220BX is supplied by AIRTEL.
So possible error using ID as admin and PW admin was possible.

Give more details of the Beetel 220BX unit:

Are you sure it was working earlier with any ISP ?

Power adapter used rated 5V amp D.C= at 1 Amp rating ?

Ready/try for Firmware update AT YOUR own RISK
in command.com mode.?
feedback.

I think even for Firmware update, I should be able to connect to the modem. This was supplied by Airtel(also the adaptor).
the problem is that i am not able to establish the connection ->
- the pc/usb LED glows on and off like slow blinking.
- pinging 192.168.1.1 returns time out.
- trying 192.168.1.1 in the browser(IE/Chrome) returns Page not found. The userid/pwd popup doesnot come, only then I can think of entering the correct id.

this is happens only for beetel 220Xi, whereas the one supplied by BSNL(Huawei) connects to my machine. So the pc config should be correct? am i right?

I tried to resetting the modem.. pressing the RST for about a 30 sec. I expected the LEDs glowing(power, data) would go off and on (like u see when you reset a wifi router.. note that I am not connecting the modem to the router) but that didn't happen. the LEDs just continued to glow. Is there a proper way to reset the modem?

could it be possible the modem or the adapter is damaged?

@essbebe
plzzz remove this link for upgrading ut300r2u...i tried and lost my modem...i knew jto in our exchange so i was able to replace my modem...after update my modem was unable to recieve any data, also power light was off and dsl light was permanently on[even without inserting cable]...so plzzz remove this link so that others wont try n its not very easy to deal with bsnl guys[if u dnt know any person there] to replace ur modem at once..i think u know that how much time they waste.modem cost is 1800rs so they will not replace it at their own risk.thanxxxxx anyway as i got new modem

Dear Essbebe, Thanks a lot for your time. Today I bought a new modem TP-Link 8816 and the connection works like gem. Will have to find a new way to use the old ex-modems.thank you very much for your time.
