Frank, Pranav (tbhp) here.Check for a 10 mbps annual plan for around 7K IIRC. Been using it for a few months. No hassles at all apart from one of the threads I've created in this forum. Downloaded over 1.4TB in about 4-5 months.I usually don't connect to these hubs, so cannot offer anything there. However, I'm using a wireless router and it works fine.

Five Network Solution (India) Ltd

There it is. NEW PLAN. But not for us. Ahura Broadband is not offering this plan :-(
This is only for people who have a direct line from Fivenet!

i tried that dude. he told me u r free to disconnect !!!!even i don't get the 10mb plan in my area

its okay today at my end !why don't u do a speed check n see?

Working well since 20 days. Might be paying 18k upfront and go for the yearly 10 mbps connection. As of now, have paid 2 k once.

Can anyone post Fivenet DNS address.

Also does using Google DNS help speed-wise or is it better to stick with Fivenet DNS?

Depends how you use the Internet. Fivenet employs *a lot* of caching for all sorts of things which can only be utilized properly with Fivenet DNS.

Google DNS is best if your providers DNS is unreliable, otherwise I'd say to stick with your provider's DNS (it'll usually get you better streaming from sites like Youtube and so on).

anybody using wifi to connect to the hub? what download speed are you getting?I am using Linksys WRT54G2 and get download speed of 2.2 MiB/s in hub. Will buying a 150Mbps Wireless N router give me better speed in the hub than my current router?

no. no router can give u full speeds on a 100mbits line. u have to use a wired connection. on wired i get approx 8-10.fyi i have a D-Link 300mbps router. i barely get 3mb/s on tht.

Only if you buy a good one. The WRT54G2 is a little stripped down compared to some of the others in that series, so won't give as good performance as you might have expected from buying the WRT54G.

But whether the speed increase justifies your expenditure will be the main question, because it also depends on your WiFi card and even which authentication mechanism you use (WPA with TKIP is slower than WPA2 with AES, for example).

fyi i have a D-Link 300mbps router. i barely get 3mb/s on tht.

That's because D-Link are (basically) crap (and worse, some models die all the time whenever you try to use Bittorrent, the DIR615 is famous for this).

On a Linksys/Cisco or a Netgear you'll get much better speeds: at one of our installations, a Netgear WGR614 (802.11N-150) is giving around 50-60mbit/s (though wired gives about 85-90). Belkin are also supposed to be OK but I've not got as much personal experience with any of their gear made in the last 5 years or so.
