Hello all,I am using bsnl 1000 uld combo plan(2mbps upto 15GB and 256 kbps post that per month). Is it true that suppose while downloading 15GB file my monthly data at top speed is only 1 GB left and if I don't reconnect my internet I can still download data beyond my limited data for 24 hour or so with 2 mbps connection speed instead of 256kbps? Anyone can clarify it plz?

Yes, the speed does not fall until reconnection.BSNL updates IP address every 24 hrs so even if you continue downloading a file your speed will fall after IP update.

As this is an Unlimited plan, downloading at higher speed 2 Mbpsafter exceeding FUP, due to faulty software at BSNL end, the user may get an advantage for say 24 hours additionally.Reminds me of NU earlier, when full data download was billed , if download started earlier to 0200AM. and continued by user .without restarting modem. Also some users started at 0755AM and continued FREE d/l upto 0830AM etc. These bugs have been FIXED, and meter records data usage separatelyfor NU period for U/l and limited users equally.( in most self care portals)Over Billing complaints drastically reduced or almost NIL now metering stops/breaks restarts at 0200AM and 0800AM. PARA 2:Changing server speed midway may be also possible. How Changing SERVER IP will reduce the speed not known.. May be the Summary Usage is checked later ( every 24 hours )or at start of a sessionand a command made to allot a server for the lower speed.Other side of the story: sometime users may not,get back the 2 Mbps /4Mbps, at start in next month and the speed remains at 256 Kbps.!Software programmers may be able to explain, about DSLAM equipment.

@BeekeysThen you have to contact the BB section and ask them to Change the "PORT"I could guess this way:when you log in according to your ID computer checks your tariff plan and connects to a Gateway server, for connected speedwhich in turn allots an Ip to you.Switch off modem and reconnect. Your Gateway may remain same , but Ip address will change. ( dynamic as usual )Note these details when you get the high speed. When FUP is reached, if you stay on same Gateway , as explained aboveyou may continue to get higher speed.Next when FUP limit is crossed , you may get connected to a slower gateway.I am also getting FUP on Home750 2Mbps/8GB then 512 Kbps from 1stwill take readings and update here. very supporting explaination, thanx @essbebe, i will act as u mentioned n will keep watching ur updates.............

In my case BBG 1350 ULD. I am on 117 IP range (speed 4 mbps) at the start of the month after I reach FUP limit (20GB) I am auto shifted to 59 IP range and speed decreased to 512 kbps. After crossing the 20 GB FUP limit my speed does not immediately fall to 512 kbps. It happens only when I reboot the modem or the lease time (TTL) of the BSNL Dynamic IP assigned to me expires (24 hrs)

Is the 15GB limit in this plan for download only? i mean does it not count any uploaded data?

No, In my case I have seen BSNL counts only Download. It's download limit not Data transfer limit.

According to my portal account it is the data transfer limit. But sometimes I download over 100 GB and dont get fuped.
