The RIL services is based on fourth generation, or 4G, technology which offers faster internet access compared to third generation (3G) services. RIL plans to launch tablets at around Rs 3,500 and bundle it with data offering as low as 1 GB at Rs 10, a tenth of the current 3G prices.

RIL's entry and price disruption could therefore nullify the business case for 3G for existing mobile operators, all of whom on an average offer 1 GB of downloads for Rs 100 at present. Analysts also add that the immediate threat posed by RIL's entry will be to operators like Sistema Shyam and Tata Teleservices, the largest players in the dongle business, plug-in devices that provide wireless connectivity to the internet.

Err it says end 2012... I thought it was going to be launched by march... Oh well... Also u have put the word confirmed in ur title which is a bit misleading... The only way this news would be confirmed was if some RIL official came on record confirming this... I remember around 2003 when APC for petroleum was dismantled everyone said RIL would sell petrol atleast Rs 5 cheaper than the govt companies.. Look where it is now... Let them launch then only we will get excited about this...

They are launching so late. Another one year to experience broadband revolution. 🙁

1GB for rs.100 ? eh ? which provider is offering that; i would be happy to pay 100/- for 1GB on 3G speeds

only tablets are coming end 2012 , datacard/dongles are set for mid yr launch

1GB for Rs 100! Who offers? Which 3G provider?

Someone must try and share his experience here. Till No I haven't heard anyone getting speed greater than 7 MBPS.

reliance 3g has one plan of 21gb for 2100rs so they might have calculated by that
Good observation. But then as we go up at higher expense, we might feel its cheaper.
I was thinking Rs 100 for 1 GB... 🙁

Can we Expect something like this? 😀

Lol, comparing AT&T LTE with Indian 4g :nono::rofl:

why whats wrong? If companies can deliver 3-4Mbps on 3G.. why can't they provide 15-20Mbps on 4G? Why not compare with India.. Because they buy in Dollars they can only get such speeds? are we paying in paisa here?
