hey folks,I got DSL service and it's great.I went online about 3 weeks back and filled out a form to get the service, no reply and no word. So I then filled out a PDF form and had it dropped off at the nearest MTNL office, within 48 hours i got a call to schedule an install. They came within 30 minutes of when they promised (that's friggin' amazing), took about 30 minutes to install and get it working. The guy even knew how to configure my Mac PowerBook. The tech also mentioned they are going to be launching TV via the connection, he said you will need a set-top box. I asked for a timeline and he said "very soon" - which could mean 1 day, 1 week, 1 month or 1 year. But he said they would launch it.They did a hell of a job, now just waiting to switch to the unlimited anytime plan, whenever that is!!!!One question, I have to access an external SMTP server for work, and i think MTNL blocks traffic on TCP Port 25. Do they provide for an external SMTP mail-relay server?thanks, mrj

ok so u might be from new delhi..cauz mtnl mumbai sucks

ya man.. in some areas mtnl is frigging good... other areas its the same old.. sucks..anddude. mtnl doesnt block any ports... for sure.there might be some settings in your router that would enable you to send mails on port 25

chicmagnet, nevermind, you are right they don't block and my smtp server settings were fine. i was just jumping the gun.later, mrj

mtnl's session history is not working[/b]

Many times the page where we login to see our usage etc. doesn't work here too but that's not a problem with one's connection but a problem with MTNL maintaining its websites.
