Hey fellas, I've been using BEAM since the past few months and apart from a 4 days downtime which they flatly blamed on their need to upgrade their hardware in order to accommodate their ever increasing customer base in our area, I'm honestly satisfied with their connection. I've been lurking around this sub forum for almost a week and unsurprisingly, endless posts about their abysmal customer service seems to be stinking up the place. I agree with the most part of it cuz my interaction with them hasn't been any pleasant either but they DO take care of things even it takes a cool 24 hrs. If you ask me, I'd rather wait 24hrs for a slower response and see some reasonable rates than having top shelf customer service with rip off prices like other ISPs. Few things have been on my mind since start but I've got mixed responses from the [email protected], so I thought you guys might have a better idea. * My connection got capped just once but unlike their promised unlimited uploads, even my upload speed was reduced, is this how it is or am I missing something ? * I use torrents and my uploads are usually thrice the downloads (ie) lets say for every 10GB d/l, I u/l around 30-40 GB if not more. Has anyone faced any unusual upload speed caps before reaching FUP lmits ? * Anyone using their 20Mbps connection ? * In the usage statement page via BEAM portal, does the total data consumption show just downloads ? Or is it D/L + U/L ? * After applying a cap they usually bill the extra usage which can be paid via the login page, I'm under the belief that its an optional payment if you want the cap reset before the end of the current month. But has anyone faced any problems with the extra usage bills mounting up as dues when you want to renew your subscription monthly, biannually or annually ?
