I *tried* renewing my 3G plan (the 100 buck one) today morning at around 2AM by SMSing 144. Not only did Vodafone not renew my plan, but they also started sending me the same two SMSes every five minutes:

#1: "Your data pack is active now, valid upto 27.11.2011 (WTF, that's the expiry date of my current pack) blah blah blah"

#2: Sorry, Your Data Pack Could not be activated since you don't have sufficient balance in your account. Please recharge and try again." (bullshit, my balance is around Rs. 700)

Soooooo I went to the Vodafone store nearby. They told me two things: 1. they have no clue why I'm being spammed and 2. they have no clue when it'll stop.

Hi George,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Please share your number with us here Vodafone India - Complaints - Requests - Enquires We're keen to resolve the matter at the earliest.

Regards,
Vodafone Customer Care

I filled out your form, lets see what happens.

I've had to turn off my SMS alert tone. Right now I've crossed over 350 SMSes. This is like a denial-of-service attack over SMS 😕

Trust to get flooded by at least 500sms should your balance go into negative courtesy an active 3G session. This SMS flood is a common issue with VF.

dont know about 3g but on edge receive sms after each data session i.e. when i turn cellular data network off

I've been getting USSD popups about data usage every 30 minutes or so, but these SMSes are different. It's like their system is stuck in an infinite loop:

while(TRUE) {annoy_customer();

}

I'm up to 423 SMSes already at the time of this post.

ok switch off the phone.

And switch it on again. Maybe it may help

Have tried that a few times today, no joy. I rang Vodafone up and had a few words with them. The CSR claimed the problem would "go away" in a few hours.

Gonna have to find some SMS spam app now :/

I tried complaining over the phone again. Took me 15 minutes to explain to the cretin that these were actual text messages, not popup USSD alerts. The guy put me on hold for a while, then comes back and says "sir, you are getting these popup boxes every time, right?". Wasted another five minutes trying to explain the problem again. Then he put me on hold and hung up :/

I get similar no. of msgs from Idea notifying me of my Data usage!

Most useless link ever. Do you guys even bother to get back to people? Are you a human being or a bot? Hello?

I used their link twice got good response within a day.
try it
