Downloading stops after a while...

As are most of the users here... i am also a download freak.. and download a lot of media stuff....i applied for a mtnl 1899 combo plan connection and am very happy with the speed (280 kpbs) and no FUP....I use IDM for downloading,.. but every 2 hrs wen i come back to the machine,,, the downloading stops,,, and i have to press the repair button of the local area connection.. and after renewing the IP and clearing the cashe, the downloading resumes....The trouble is that ever 2 hrs i have to check the machine and press the repair option, which is a big tension.What can b the reason.... wy does the connection break every couple of hrs.. and then resumes again on repairing..??please help me....

i had the same prob..using BSNL BB.but i had this prob only wid IDM...so change d DL manager n see..

IDM is nice when it comes to utilizing the best of your network.I have used free download manager and it used to fluctuate between 80-140 kBps On IDM, it stays between 250-300 kBps.If you can't make it work on IDM then be prepared to compromised on download speeds, I suppose.

Update your IDM to latest version and try again

the connection drops automatically... and wen i press the repair option it gathers a IP and resumes the connection again 🙁

call MTNL! it may be a problem with ur line.

Did you try using another download manager ? If the problem still persists get your line checked.
