Hi Guys,
Facing Problem with connecting bsnl broadband with my computer.

Router Model : Adsl 2 + CPE/IAD AN1020-21 type -WT .

Modem set up is done(ppooe mode) and other computes in my home except mine able to connect with no issues..

I was using Windows 7 for long time and found no issue in connecting..5 days back problem started ..not able to connect to internet most of the time.some times rarely it gets connect and will take hell lot of time to even load google.com ..I could not open 192.168.1.1 modem set up and even if it does it loads half site ..very slow...Tried assigning IP manually with dns ..no results..

Thought it is problem with windows 7 in assigning IP ,so i completely formatted my entire hard disk(made sure no virus / malware) and did a fresh installation of Vista sp2 home edition(network driver installed) ..Unfortunately same problem exist..and also tried Windows Xp sp3 same results...

Other computers in my home (one Xp and another Win 7) access internet with no issues .Right now my O.S is Vista sp2 home edition.

Below are 2 DNS i tried setting it manully ......

Weird is some times with manually assigned IP with DNS (above screenshot),network says its connected to Internet but i am not able to open sites(below screenshot) but torrent works.Firewall is disabled.

IPCONIFG/all screenshot below :

Sorry for the long post ,just wanted to give all the options which i tried..

Thanks in advance...

Cheers,
srini

DHCP enabled = No?

If your other computers are working but you can't even load 192.168.1.1 from that machine, then the possibility is there that that cable is foobar. Try a different ethernet cable from one of your other PCs and see how that goes.If that doesn't work, try and load a Linux LiveCD and see if you can access the modem router page from there - if it all works fine, it could be a software issue (maybe you still have some form of malware, hard to say).Failing that, maybe turn off IPv6 and disable your tunnels, as your PC may be trying to prefer working via IPv6 for some reason, especially if there is a machine on your network which is (for some reason) acting as a master.

As i have entered IP manually in tcp/ip ,dhcp value is No ..Ok now i removed the IP which i entered and allowed system to get new ip..result it didnt connected to network...below is ipconfig/all ........

use 192.168.1.11 instead of 192.168.1.12 and for DNS, I suggest using Google DNS. Its 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Hi,
I did tried google DNS...network says its connected to internet..but i am not able to open any site..i tried opening 192.168.1.1 ,it was very slow and only half site loaded..

Hi,
cable seems to be fine because i tested the cable with other system .it worked...i believe lan port is faulty because i tried a new lan cable (which worked in other system) it didnt even flash light at lan port (mean not connected) ...can i buy a new USB LAN port and give a try ?

i think i got the same problem when i tried mtnl 3G with a modem, tried ipconfig renew, flush but nothing helped.even tried winsock fix and another ipfix, have to format and then it worked 😛

You got APIPATurn off your router for 30 seconds, shut down your computer as well.Check if all cables and stuff is properly connected. Turn on the router and computer.Check, if still doesn't work?Open Cmd then ipconfig /release hit enteripconfig /renew hit enterTry to connect, if still doesn't work.Restart the computer in safe mode with networking.Continue rest of the winsock, netsh reset and all that in diagnostics mode.

Thanks all for your suggestions..Problem solved. It aint a software issue..Problem is Lan PORT ..for the internet to work well lan port should not be blinking on and off..which was the problem in my case..i tried with some other cable and it worked..thanks all ..bye..

Post ipconfig /all ONLY for LAN mode now.
