Hello Sir/Madam,

Kindly share your number with us here Vodafone India - Complaints - Requests - Enquires so that we may be able to address your concern as soon as possible.

Regards,
Vodafone Customer Care

Give it a rest, would you? Instead of posting a template reply & quoting the whole post, for once provide some actual help. Are you even capable of that?

A Vodafone Customer Care rep. I called on your helpline no. was having a hard time trying to explain the difference b/w the LIFETIME & LIFELONG.
According to him only Vodafone LIFETIME customers (customers who got their connections on or before 2005) are entitled to use RC-149.
LIFELONG customers (like me, which he said he knew once he put my no. through the system) need to do mandatory Rs. 200/- recharge every 6 months.
Also, no "TRUE" per-second plan is available & I have to do a Bonus Card recharge worth Rs. 41 every 6 months/180 days.

But every automated message I have received so far from Vodafone goes like this :
"To enjoy LIFETIME validity u need to do Mandatory Rs200 rchrg in last 6 months.Plz rchrg by [date] to prevent DISCONNECTION.
Plz ignore ths SMS if already rchrgd".

So does that make my plan LIFETIME or LIFELONG ? Care to shed some light on that? How am I supposed to proceed properly if every information dispensed from your end is contradictory?

Is it not high time that your esteemed establishment quit with the LIFETIME/LIFELONG BULLSHIT and stopped feeding the paying customers with useless jargon?

Soon after your reply, I came to notice that the previous tariff plans for Kolkata
have all been changed/removed/hidden and replaced them with some so called *new* plans.
Vodafone Prepaid Tariff plans | Call charges | Call rates | Kolkata

Nobody in the Customer Care of a Vodafone Store I visited, located at 204, Sarat Bose Road, Kolkata - 700029,
had heard of these *new* plans and they didn't seem to care much.

Their biggest interest seemed to lie in somehow convincing prospective/existing customers to get "POSTPAID" plans. They really seemed extra intent in PUSHING the POSTPAID PLANS.
Even if you're in a long queues, you can cut the line short, by telling them you need "POSTPAID".
They will be your BFF... [Pun intended!]

Also they didn't shy from asking why I needed the per-second-pulse plan anyway? Yeah, why? Why would anyone ever want the pay-per-second plan?
They said that I would run into losses if I opted for the pay-per-second plan... Some logic, huh?
But they didn't forget to remind me that there is always a dedicated pay-per-second POSTPAID plan... Ha ha.

Isn't it funny, how helpful your customer care is/can be?

Instead of changing your plans/stories the moment you're posed with a question, please try to get your house in order and stop trying to swindle your customers.

You can only fleece the customer for that long... MNP ahoy!

Bro, looks like you have messed up with your account. or may be I am getting confused.

When I inquired about "Recharge 149", see image:

Link (look for 'Recharge 149'): https://shop.vodafone.in/shop/rechargeOnline.jsp?cid=kol&startValue=31

The rep. there said it was possible to avoid mandatory Rs. 200/- recharge, if I use the ^above RC-149. It will give me 1yr validity.
When the sales guy did an easy recharge for 1yr validity worth Rs. 149/-,
instead of getting a msg. reflecting validity or only Rs. 10.13/- increase in previous balance, got a msg. saying:

Your account has been refilled successfully by Rs. 133.09.
Your Vodafone prepaid account balance is Rs. (Previous Balance+133.09)

Does this mean the sales person did a talk-time recharge of Rs 149/- instead of a validity recharge?

When inquired, he said that it will take atleast 4hrs for the validity to reflect in my account.
Even after 4hrs, there was no such confirmation.
When I used 140 helpline to check my acc. validity, the IVR said same thing (before/after recharging):
Account validity: 31-Dec-2013
Balance validity: 15-Jan-2014

It should have been as far as I can comprehend:
Account validity: 14-Nov-2012
Balance validity: 14-Nov-2012

So Vodafone messed up pretty much.

Do you want to come out of Lifetime validity and go for yearly validity recharge. If yes then you already have done that by recharging it wit 149.

Yes, I wanted to opt out of Lifetime/Lifelong/whatnot.

And what about your main issue which was of Pay Per Second ??

They are unaware of prepaid Rs. 61/- plan that has the pay-per-second facility by default without any pay-per-second validity restriction.
No one in Voda. csc has heard of it, they always deny it or say its not available with them.

But its still listed here:

Link: http://www.vodafone.in/Documents/PDFs/tariffs/kol.zip

(in the excel sheet, look for 'Per second pulse' with MRP of Rs. 61/-)

They always insist you to go with Rs. 49/- basic/starter pack and say that pay-per-second facility is being provided to you for free for the 1st yr only.
After 1yr, one has to recharge with Bonus Card worth Rs. 41/- every 6 months (yes, bonus card validity has been reduced from 1yr to 0.5yr)
to carry on with pay-per-second facility sothat, they can pocket Rs. 82/- every year for a facility that TRAI has made compulsory as an option for every new connection.

Therefore "pay-per-second" plan, yes but with strings attached.

@IndianMascot

Thanks for your replies and for showing an active interest.

See bro, the excel you enclosed which mention about Rs 61 is for New customers. Now the STV you require is of " Existing Customers ".Every company had 2 category of recharges:1. For New Acquisition2. For Exosting CustomersSo, Rs 61 recharge was when you purchased the Sim card. Now that the PPS (Pay Per Second) had been converted to PPM (Pay per Minute), then some mistake had been done either from your side by recharging with wrong denomination or else something terrible had happened from Vodafone side. So, You have to get your tariff changed to PPS from PPM.And Rs 149 recharge is regular Validity recharge for Non-Lifetime customers. They had again educated you wrong information. 🙁

When I was a new customer last year, I wanted to take the Rs. 61/- plan but they said that it was not available.

They were not even sure when it'll be available & handed me the Rs. 49/- plan instead.

Now even after 1 long year, the story is still the same. If today I wanted to buy a new SIM, I'll again be offered the same Rs. 49/- plan. So nothing has changed and I am stuck with PPM with recurring STVs worth Rs 41 each every 6 moths to make it PPS for as long as the connection is alive. Maybe that is what is meant by LIFELONG !!!!!

And Rs 149 recharge is regular Validity recharge for Non-Lifetime customers. They had again educated you wrong information. 🙁

I want to become a Non-Lifetime/Non-Lifelong customer. Can anyone please help me with that?

Now I would suggest you to go for Postpaid for 3 months and then convert it to prepaid. That can be the only solution as far as I think.Another Solution will be mark a details issue of yours to Vodafone Nodal Team. I am sure they will help you. The things which you require can easily be configured in their system.

Once you go to postpaid, they will make it difficult to switch back to prepaid. It would be easier to MNP to someone else and back again after 3 months if you so wish. Even MNP is so much simpler if you are on prepaid.

MNP is complicated thing bro. Instead Prepaid to postpaid and postpaid to prepaid is simple one. And most operators easily agrees for migration in an impression that customer is still in their network.

Prepaid -> Postpaid (very very easy, the Vodafone people will go bonkers...)

If my plan was not changed, then you have LIARS employed who call you back and confirm a plan change and never said that i need to visit
any stupid store to complete this, there was no mention of any action required from my end, only think sounded was like the executive was happy
to retain a post-paid customer, but seems once the customer agreed to remain on post-paid they just dump your request so you can be billed
for a higher amount plan.

Vodafone India attitude has changed a lot, they just want new customers, existing ones can be dumped easily
Vodafone gives a Damn on you, no matter how loyal you may have been, ( you will be proven stupid after your loyalty)
They love making you run like their DOG between 111 and vodafone store

I have more business to take care of, I don't have stupid patience and time to listen to CRAP told by your ultra bright zozo type staff
who will never resolve a problem, all they are good at is handle those stupid request "CALLAR TUNEWA KA PAISA KAT GAWA, ka kari bhaiya"
Vodafine don't sound even a bit professional in all my recent experiences.

So at the end, I now regret for being a vodafone DOG :anger3:

I'm a voting for MNP cause "Postpaid -> Prepaid" is frankly too tiresome going by the experience of my fellow sufferers.

I so don't want be on their ZooZoo network...

Absolutely. And who knows, in those 3 months you might even find your temp solution to be better than voda. That would be a bonus.

so is the latest on this still need to recharge for 200 every 6 months ? AND an sms or incoming or outgoing or GPRS usage in 2 months ?

I think nothing happens.. Its been almost a year for my other Vodafone number and I've recharged it with Rs.166 only, in total..

I think amount can be lesser. Not sure about duration, but it needs to be used I believe once in 90 days or something to that affect.

The number must be on that is active on a phone not shut off

So how about this :I recharged my mobile with 3-4k at once. I'm unable to use up all the available mobile cash within 6 months timeframe, then?

I think that should entitle you for more validity period but this varies a lot from one operator to another.
My personal experience with my own numbers.

1). Airtel Prepaid, haven't recharged in last 1 year, works fine, I do sometime make a call from it, but don't know if i used it more than once in 3-4 months and
its mostly switched off.

2). Aircel, Bought in 2009/10, used a few days and kept it aside, after 6 months took it out and it worked, recharged it for Rs.100/- in 2011 and never used it, took it out after gap of 5-6 months and using it for 3G, its working till date, but now I've recharged it for 2000+ in last 2 months.

3). Idea Prepaid, Number was good so bought it, but never used regularly, but I did managed 200 per 6 months cause, Idea used to send SMS stating your total recharge value is less than 200 in last 6 months as per TRAI rules, please recharge immediately to avoid loosing number....

4). Reliance GSM, used it regularly then left it Idle, checked after few months it was working, then checked again 3 months later, Number was de-activated already.

5). voda pre-paid, used in Data card, Recharged for 505 as first recharge, worked for a month in modem, took it out and tried it after 2 months, number had incoming but no outgoing even after having Rs.10-20 as balance. Never asked them why as it was only for data card and I moved to aircel already.

6). T24, used only when Bigbazaar gave free talktime, never recharged from outside shop or other than free talk value, works fine since first day of launch till now.

The rule they have is to recharge rs 200 every 6 months and incoming or outgoing or sms or data usage every 60 days.I would say one is lucky if the operator does not shut you off. When they need numbers they go on a shutting down/ hunting spree
