Hi guys,

Got a msg from Vodafone today:

To enjoy LIFETIME validity u need to do Mandatory Rs200 rchrg in last 6 months.
Plz rchrg by 16thNov to prevent DISCONNECTION.
Plz ignore ths SMS if already rchrgd

What happens if I don't recharge for Rs. 200 now?

I've got nearly Rs. 75 balance on my Vodafone prepaid acc. Will I lose this balance if don't recharge within the stipulated time frame?

On the Vodafone website, it says:

To keep yourself mobile with a lifelong prepaid card, all you need to do is recharge with a minimum amount of Rs 200, every 6 months.

What do they mean by 'lifelong'? They don't say anything about "disconnection", as in the msg.

----------------------------------

One more thing:

Last year, when I first started off with a Vodafone Rs. 49/- prepaid starter pack, they were charging me on Per second pulse tariff plan.
Back then I specifically asked them for the Per second pulse plan. They only had Rs. 49/- prepaid starter pack with them which offered Per second pulse tariff with validity of 1yr only, even though the Vodafone website mentioned "true" per second pulse tariffs with no such restriction on validity.
So the catch with the Rs. 49/- prepaid starter pack is that the Per second pulse tariff is valid only for 1yr & after that all the calls are @ 50p/min.

Now, after 1yr all the calls are being charged at 50p/min tariff.

How can I change my current tariff from 50p/min to Per second pulse permanently?

Thanks for reading. A reply would be helpful.

Your Account would be suspended which will be followed bt termination and your number will be re-provisioned and sold in market as New Number.

Lifetime Validity means, you won't have to recharge your account for Validity. Your Validity will remain as lifelong till company exists, but to keep it in active status you have to recharge it with Rs 200 in an interval of 6 months.

Rs 49 starter was FRC offer which remain valid for 3,6, 9, 12 or even more according to the scheme and operator. Now that it had been expired, there must be any STV (Special Tariff Voucher) to reactivate per second pulse. STV may be montly or yearly. That you need to enquire with Vodafone.

🙂

First of all, thanks a lot for the reply. 🙂

Understood. 🙂

Kindly take a look at the list of plans available in Kolkata:

http://www.vodafone.in/prepaid/plans/pages/tariffs_kol.aspx?cid=kol

So ideally all the plans should be available in Kolkata.

Can I change my present plan to the plan worth Rs. 37/- (i.e., the 3rd plan from the left)?

I want to do away with the business of buying STVs/Bonus Cards every year altogether. Will that be possible?

Thanks. 🙂

As per the details you should be enjoying per second tariff only, but it looks like either you have recharged a wrong voucher or there is some discrepancy from Vodafone Side. Visit some Vodafone Store and sort out this query. They will either migrate your plan back to per second or will tell you about the proper STV amount which will convert your plan back to pay per second.

Well, paid my local Vodafone customer care/store a visit today.

The csc rep. said that Rs. 200 every 6 months was mandatory, as we all know.

When I inquired about "Recharge 149", see image:

Link (look for 'Recharge 149'): https://shop.vodafone.in/shop/rechargeOnline.jsp?cid=kol&startValue=31

The rep. there said it was possible to avoid mandatory Rs. 200/- recharge, if I use the ^above RC-149. It will give me 1yr validity.

When the sales guy did an easy recharge for 1yr validity worth Rs. 149/-,

instead of getting a msg. reflecting validity or only Rs. 10.13/- increase in previous balance, got a msg. saying:

Your account has been refilled successfully by Rs. 133.09.
Your Vodafone prepaid account balance is Rs. (Previous Balance+133.09)

Does this mean the sales person did a talk-time recharge of Rs 149/- instead of a validity recharge?

When inquired, he said that it will take atleast 4hrs for the validity to reflect in my account.

Is that true or did I just get duped?

Bro, looks like you have messed up with your account. or may be I am getting confused.Do you want to come out of Lifetime validity and go for yearly validity recharge. If yes then you already have done that by recharging it wit 149. And what about your main issue which was of Pay Per Second ??

but ppl who have more than 100 buks bal. in their ac should nt be made to do recharges evry 6 months specially if that no. is rarely used..

logically i agree, but as per rules one had to recharge his account with Rs 200 even if he had a balance of rs 1000.

I have been using an airtel number with lifetime validity for nearly 1.5 years without more than Rs.200 recharge. But before that I was a regular customer.. same case with my friend who had a tata docomo number.

Its good, but at no time airtel will terminate the number and issue it to someone else and you won't be able to do anything legally in that case.

I am an Airtel prepaid customer with 999 lifetime validity plan since may 2008 and i have never recharged since 2009 yet my no. is active.(i have another airtel post paid connection which is primary)

Even I have 1-2 such numbers, but the day they will filter these numbers, all will be gone in one go.

They have assured me that this no will remain with me as long as balance doesn't go negative.

They have assured me ......

hehe never trust airtel and vodafone lol ....
