I look at it this way. I was earlier using the 599 plan with 512 kbps speed. Now at 590 I get a much higher speed for the first 5 GB. So what does such a user lose with the new plan?
I will not mind taking a plan for 10mbps... at least to experience the 10mbps....but I don't think they have fibre till end user.. atleast we should commend MTNl to bring 10mbps where so called modern airtel is still struggling with 4mbps...they have not returned my Rs 500 booking charge of 4mbps line that they could not provided and sticked to 2mbps only. Well done MTNL...at least I am appraising, being scrwed up by ministry and ministers all the time, coming out with atleast 10mbps plan is comedable job.
BSNL would probably launch such one's when they are done with FTTH in most of the metros. I guess they would do it in 2012 till then we may hear 20mbps(4mbps Post FUP) for Rs 1000 Bucks from companies like Beam fiber and 1mbps post fup from airtel:calm:

Beam doesn't have plans to increase the FUP or the plans for the time being 🙂
Airtel may provide 1mbps post FUP by the time we reach 2012
