To be honest..I am really excited to see the cat n mouse fight between MAssa & Hamilton....i hope it continues and massa should come out as victorious in that fight...

yeap. i was amused at tweets calling F1 a major success crediting maya for doing a good job despite being what she is.

only a few talked about the farmers who are probably the biggest loser in the whole mess. the glamour quotient has totally overtaken their cause. media would not bother about them. F1 in India is a major success. Jaypee has delivered the goods. They now have a trump card with them.

You need to understand tht farmers r not losing anything atleast in this case .. They tried to gain extra after seeing the costs soaring up ..
When JP purchased land from them they were paid accordingly .. Now JP has invested and built the infrastructure.. so they have done cos they want to make profits ..
It shouldn't be farmers headache wht's the land price now ..
I know UP govt too have acquired land at cheap rates at few places .. But farmers themselves r not so clean too .. They wanna blackmail the builders and get some money .. The farmers r crorepatis after they got the money from land sale .. They haven't invested it properly so when they run out of the money then they wanna squeeze more from builders ..

Agree with hitman. Farmers of Western UP are not like your average typical poor and exploited farmers. They are amongst the richest farmers in India. Western UP had benefitted equivalent to Punjab from the green revolution. And these farmers belong to the strong Jat and Gujjar communities (mostly). Now there may indeed be some who have been exploited but I personally know many who got good compensation for their land, have not invested it properly, instead bought SUVs and flats in cities and are now wondering what to do next when the money has vanished. There are some who purchased more land in neighbouring cities and are doing well. Now I am sure there must have been innocent farmers as well who sold their land for less money under the influence of influential families of the village but not every farmer protesting in Noida is innocent.

She might be there to check out the cars and maybe buy one or two cars so that she can bring her fav chappals from her home wheneva she wants

and probably get "Schu"macher to drive the vehicle to lucknow.

Here is an old pic of Schumacher presenting a karting trophy to a very young Vettel. Who would have imagined that the kid would come inches close to Schumi's record of 13 wins in a season!

Great weekend, forgettable race

Much had been written about the Indian Grand Prix in the weeks ahead of the inaugural race, but in the event most of the post-race headlines concentrated on what was a fairly uneventful afternoon. But one or two newspapers did look back at the weekend as a whole ...
In the Times, Kevin Eason bemoaned what was a low-key debut. "India used up its allowance of fireworks celebrating Diwali, the nation's biggest religious holiday, and all Formula One could find to bring to India's new temple of motor racing was a damp squib. This was the first grand prix on Indian soil, a glittering, boisterous mix of Bollywood meets European glamour. If only the race had lived up to billing and provided some of the same drama that lights up the cinema screens in this vast, populous nation."
Tom Cary in the Daily Telegraph was more upbeat. "It would be wrong to give a negative impression of what was a truly unique race weekend. The consensus, as Formula One packed up its wares and headed for Indira Gandhi airport, or the Lady Gaga gig in downtown Delhi, was that India had more than earned the right to label its maiden grand prix a qualified success.

"The local colour, the enthusiasm of staff and volunteers, the undeniable ambition of the organisers and, of course, the track itself, which was praised to the rafters by the drivers, more than making up for the whiff of chaos which pervaded proceedings; the design flaws in the paddock, the issues of transportation and timing."

On the BBC website, commentator Martin Brundle said it has been "a major success as an event". He continued: "The sheer energy, colour and vibrancy of the city of Delhi and the Buddh International Circuit were something to behold. It takes a day or two to adjust to India. The air is rather too smoggy, the chaos and lack of discipline on the roads is frankly terrifying - and I am not easily scared - and cleanliness is clearly not a priority. But somehow it all works."

In the Daily Express, Bob Mckenzie wrote that while the race was not "the all-singing, all-dancing spectacular that F1 wanted, it was enough to launch the sport to a market of 1.2 billion people".

The Times of India, in no mood for a shy or retiring lead, headlined its front page "Vettel wins, world raises toast to India" before slamming critics. "[The race] was a tribute to India and a rejection of the views held by the cynics at home and abroad who had, at every stage, doubted the nation's ability to host a Formula One grand prix."

Few hrs back I watched Indian GP full race ..Including before and after race shows .. And it was a bbc coverage ..The coverage of star sports in comparison was pathetic .. They don't show anything like interview with drivers in pit lane etc like the BBC do ..Moreover they showcased India for good 30-40mins .. Interviewed Sachin, SRK etc .. Showed how the Indian marshals were celebrating after tht race .. All in all such an in-depth coverage ..Its really a shame tht despite the race being in India, star sports wasn't able to put a show anyway near to tht of BBC ..

F1 is a lot more popular in britain than in Asia so it is obvious their coverage will be better.F1 is mainly a british sport, almost all people working there are british, Bernie Eccelstone is british, BBC has more budget & more staff at the race to cover everything and they make more money from race coverage than espnstar does , . I cant watch the race again on bbc but after every race i download the F1 "forum" after race show on bbc.

If star is not capable of providing decent enough coverage than y not use the feed from BBC .. They use the sky feed for all ashes and other football matches ..Annoying thing was even on HD there was few seconds of break on live coverage .. and in tht break they use to show their show promos like football etc .. So wht's the use?? U r not gaining anything so why not show the feed continuously atleast ..

Till a few years ago, even viewers in Britain were suffering with pathetic coverage of ITV. The commentary was worse than that of Steve Slater, JUSSST IMAGINE. but that is no excuse for Star Sports to continue with the pathetic coverage.
