well they conducted a competition and then modeled the new design of 1rs and 2rs coins and 5rs coins....Again why did they change the design? it look hideous!

Some one just gave me that new 1Re coin.Its so small, same size as 50paise OR slightly smaller than 5Rs coin.God knows why RBI had to reduce size.So looks like 2Rs coin may be slightly bigger but looks same in the picture given in previous posts

^ the new 1 re coin is almost the same size as the old 50ps coin and the new 2 re coin is approx the same size as the old 1re. its problematic when some1 hands u the old 1 re coin and the new 2 re coin. lolz

actually they removed 25ps coins from circulation, so they made 50ps the size of 25ps, 1Re the size of 50ps and so on.

i have not seen a 50 paisa coin in the last couple of months here in gurgaon. the guy where i purchase my cigs tells me that they are pretty much out of circulation around here.

Ofcourse the build quality is poor cos these coins have no value for babus .. So they don't want to waste time on them.. They only wanna talk abt hari pattis like 500Rs note and above ..
