I have a prepaid broadband connection for about 10 months now, and the till beginning of this month the speed were OK and I never bothered to check the speed.
Lately the connectivity is so bad and after multiple speed tests and after talking to their customer service ( which sucks!!) I came to know that the minimum speed on my account is set to 30kbps also that I am in a network congestion area and that they are unable to handle the load and thus the low connection speeds. Since I was told this ( about 10 days back) the speed never has gone beyond 100kbps and this is also coming only occasionally and most of the time (90%) connection speeds ( download) are less than 30kbps.
I rate Reliance NetConnect Plus as the worst possible service atleast in Hyderabad, AP. Atleast where I live people are being scammed and speeds are nowhere near broadband speeds.
The worst thing is that once you pay for the prepaid service the money is non-refundable even if you are not provided the broadband service ( Note: As far as I know BB means >=256kbps)
So beware of the Reliance Netconnect Plus Business practices and note that the advertised speeds are fictitious and not provided to anyone that I know of. They also set the minimum speeds ( like 30kbps ) on prepaid accounts and they do not advertise this anywhere in their ads.
please keep this thread alive by posting your bad experiences. Hopefully somebody sane in the company "Relaince" will understand the importance of providing service after reading our problems.
BTW, I just bought 18GB Data package worth Rs3000/- and valid for six months only beginning of this month. Before this also I had the same package but speeds were OK that time. After what I am going through now I will never purchase anything Branded "Reliance" hereafter. It's like pouring money into drains if I do that.. Once bitten twice shy.....
