The area where I live i.e Dwarka, should in theory be more like Mumbai than the rest of Delhi.
I hope Hayai gets here ASAP.Online streaming of matches and documentries costs me more Gigabits than Airtel are willing to provide.
All set to take the leap of faith.
😀
Great stuff.
Only thing I wanna know is how will be the connection provided at my home .. I mean will it be underground cable, wireless or hanging cables ..
If its hanging cable then I guess it will not a big NO for me ... sry but my past experience with sify, local ISP,
tata etc is to be blamed for tht ..
😉
Fiber-Optics aren't really suitable for hanging... bit too delicate, I think. In apartment blocks they'll go either up the side of the building or in a stairwell... or in some cases in any other available duct. Depends on the society.
Broadband will be delivered through Fiber Optics. You will be able to achieve 100Mbits with it. Yes, thats not a typo. Its possible to receive more but for now 100Mbits.
There may be a option through wireless but you won't get those kind of speeds. As for now wireless still hasn't been confirmed though.
Up to 1Gbit/s within Hayai, but 100Mbit/s to the internet - just because we don't want to make it too easy to saturate our entire available bandwidth to the outside world. When we have landed our own cable, then yeah, no worries.
i have been asking him to go complete wireless in the first phase to get the customers. but he is not interested
😀
MGC its seems is more interested in providing the fastest Broadband connection any ISP has to offer in India, wireless wouldn't cut it.
I maintain that wireless should be sold as an alternative/cheaper offering for light-users. Stirredo is right here - we've been told not to promise more than 4mbit/s on our mobile WiMax.
well with wires, he is pretty much struggling to provide anything right now
😀
anyways. i am sure he is going to face a lot of trouble in societies and buildings which already have a deal with one ISP or another.
One last hurdle to clear with the CPEs and we can finally light up all our pretty new fibers.
Most of the Delhi does not require society approval for setting up cables does it? Isn't it in the hands of the government?
Bit of both. Government up to the curb, society to enter. Most of them don't want us digging anything or adding to any mess, so... in some places we have to be careful about how we lay cables.
