42 inch HD television set. Primary need? This connection would be used for watching mostly Star World, World Movies, Star Movies, HBO etc etc (english entertainment channels). Sports channels are not important. Which is the best deal in the market? DVR is optional but would be a good option to have.

so far from my search , only 2 DTH got good remarks , one is airtel and another one is Tata Sky. You know much better about airtel . I ordered 5 days back and tomorrow only they have promised (?) to install . I dont know much about tata sky CC though. price and package wise airtel seems to have good option. Also do consider videocon.
i am more interested in comparison between Tata Sky and videocon. i know vineet who might still be involved in videocon dth operations so i can get priority support from him. i just want to know how good or bad videocon hd is. i already have an idea that tata sky is probably the safest option to go for right now. 🙂

U very well know which thread to go for that! 🙂For AQ.....most of us are quite happy with it as well. Not only HD, but SD too has a good quality of Audio.And for Customer support, again i guess u better know about it. What is the thing that bugging u then?
i was more interested in the channels on offer i guess. checked videocon website. they have a package costing 400+taxes which has almost all the HD channels plus regular ones. i guess i would contact vineet and see if he can get my friend a quick connection. any reason i should take Tata Sky over videocon?

Not just "Most" HD channels, its "All" HD channels, in that 441 Rs package. And ryt now u have the festive offer going, so paying for 12 months, will give u 2 months extra free. There are other offers too, but i dont recall clearly.For the last question, i guess u ask some TS user.......someone shud answer soon. I dont see any reason.
Y dont u call him up instead? That wud be better. Few people have said that he is not responding to emails.But i may b wrong, coz he might be ignoring some less important mails! This has to be important, as its involving sales!
