Well, today I went to BSNL exchange with all my hardware, modem, splitter and adapter. They checked and said that everything is fine. They said that if it is connecting even for a while, that means the Hardware is fine, the LINE IS FAULTY. They say that line is okay, but it gets disconnected every once in a while! The thing I am trying to say them from 4 months now! lol. They said that tomorrow someone would come to my place to check the line and all. Let's hope they can fix it.One VERY weird thing:When I disconnect the RJ11/telephone wire from my router for 10-20 mins or so, and reconnect it, the modem link does not come. It won't come even for half an hour. Then, I have to connect a telephone with that wire (which I put in the router) and see the line is full of noise, no dial tone can be heard. And, after a second the dial tone on the phone comes! This has happened with me for around 5-6 times now. Whenever I disconnect the Tel wire from the router for a long interval (say 10 mins) I have to connect it to a telephone once so as to make the line clear again. Any idea why this sort of stuff happens? this is the reason I suspect the splitter, but BSNL guys say it's fine.

@essbebe please reply.
I think you took the wrong meaning when i said that modem is fine. I was just saying
what I think was true. Your suggestions are very valuable. Please revert.

Thanks 🙂

Also, can you tell me where can I get new firmware for my modem?

Nokia Siemens Network. Type II I guess, 4 Lan+Wifi.
This could be Nokia Siemens Networks 1600 model. or sl2_141.
Same as wa3002_g4 Beetel 450BXI ZTe zxdsl531B /sl2_141 etc.
( also DNA A212 -I ) see sticky post wa3002-g4 quick reference here.
You may have to try firmware from above models .

Hardware board Id 96338w
3.12L.BSNL_01.A2pB023k.d20k_rc2
seems to be latest.
Can try Beetel450BXI FW.

Well firstly, apologize for not providing feed back for so long.
BSNL restored my line (new telephone wire from the exchange/I don't know where) and the line has become clear. I am facing almost nil disconnections since monday! (*wood touch*) 😛

So, I guess it is resolved. Though the ping issue is still troubling. The stats are not great now but they fluctuate:

I don't know whether the problem has been fully resolved but it's much better than before.

one O/T question:
Whenever I connect a device to my router I have to set DNS manually on it! Automatic does not work. EVER! any idea how to resolve that?

The data you have presented does not appear to be from the model you have.
UTSTARCOM WA3002G4 Device Info.png

If you had reproduced them, ignore above comment.

2. In my guide , i have listed many more models, and depending or FW/SW versions
there could be variations.

3. My Beetel 110BXI has the same SW/version , same as yours.
I cannot use wifi. ( No usb Port ) as the Wireless Board is not added.

4. Check your menu items;. Bitswap enabled SRA disabled. Mod mode preferably GDMT.
Super frame errors appear to be on high side.
Check System log in modem and look for possible problem.

5.Whenever I connect a device to my router I have to set DNS manually on it!

You cannot get connected to Internet ?
Once the modem/router is set, and saved (and the settings Backed up to Hard disk for future use )
there is no need to access the modem/router menu items again and again.

Are you selecting MANAGEMENT menu and then SAVE/REBOOT.?
copy/paste here ipconfig /all ONLY for Ethernet mode.

1) I have Nokia Siemens Type II router. White in colour, I think the firmware version is different. I don't need wireless card, it's inbuilt like a normal wireless router. Here is the image:

2) I have the settings you mentioned:

3) I viewed the system log. It is EMPTY.

4) You got me wrong. Suppose I connect my Mobile to my Router SSID: Default. it successfully connects to the home network. I can view the router page from my mobile 192.168.1.1 but I cannot view any webpage, until and unless I setup the dns address manually (google dns or any other) in my Mobile's setting. Like in windows we set up the static ip and dns in TCP/Ip properties. I don't have to make any changes in the router. Are you getting my point?

Here is the data for ipconfig from my desktop connected to the router via ethernet and has been setup manually for IP and DNS:

Okay guys, here is an Update:My Disconnection problem has been solved. It happens only once or twice in a day or two and then I have connect the ADSL router RJ-11 wire to a Telephone and get the dialtone and then connect it back to the router and then net works again.Another peculiar problem. Whenever I leave any download or something on, like yesterday night I left a movie or two to download, today morning I see only 300 mb has been downloaded. All modem lights are okay. I can open router config window from my Desktop too, but I cannot access net (windows has that yellow triangle in the network indicator). To resolve this I have to reboot the router! This also happens once or twice in a day or two.Lastly, the speed of the connection has fallen considerably. Download speeds are 40ish and Speedtest.net results are b/w .4 to .43 mbps always. But, I have a 512 connection, so download speed is around 15 KBps left even if I take 5 kB room for error.

guys.... read the last post please. The torrent speeds I am getting only upto 40 whereas I got ~60 usually. what ta do!

try tcp/ip optimizer from speedguide.net
( if not suggested earlier)
Reduce all resident applications ( with auto updates etc)
Check speed here and check the general quality of your connection.
VOIP Speed Test

One of the most important factors when choosing a broadband delivery method is the amount of bandwidth available.
Bandwidth is the amount of data that you are allowed to download/upload at any given time. All Broadband ISP
providers publish their bandwidth capabilities which are generally what people use to determine which plan is best for
them. However, the advertised Bandwidth is not always accurate.ISPs often allow a greater number of users to operate
on their network than their network can handle at the download speeds published. ISPs assume that not all users will
be on the network at once and not using the maximum download capabilities available. Therefore, your Broadband
download speed can vary significantlyby time of day and day of the week depending on how busy the network is.

That is why it is important to test your Broadband connection at different times. Your ISP may advertise a high Broadband
Bandwidth, but you may only get that advertised Broadband Bandwidth at certain times of the week. ...............

I get this problem in my DNA-A201BE modem occationally if I connect USB interface to PC. I think it is overheating.
